Kilimanjaro Safaris
Climb aboard your open-sided safari vehicle for an exciting expedition for the entire family. Watch animals roam freely across acres of savannah, rivers and rocky hills.
Since animals have minds of their own, no two safaris are ever the same. You may even catch a glimpse of one of the many baby animals that were recently born in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. It's a wild adventure!
Although animals are typically more active in mornings and during cooler weather, Kilimanjaro Safaris has great animal viewing in both the morning and afternoon.
The ride originally begins as a 2 week animal safari, aboard "Simba 1" through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve in Harambe East Africa. It is 800 square miles of natural East African terrain, including forest, wetlands, and open bush country, the Serengeti Savanna.
During most of the ride you view many African animals including antelope, elephants, crocodiles, giraffe, gazelle, hippos, lions, cheetahs, rhinos, flamingos, okapis, and much more.
Your tour guide points out all the animals along the way, providing great entertainment too.
Along the journey, your driver is in radio contact with Reserve Warden Wilson Matua and his guest Miss Catherine Jobson, a wildlife researcher, who are flying around the reserve on their daily routine. It all takes a turn for the worse when poachers are spotted and you are whisked off into a fast paced adventure.
