Disney's Old Key West
Disney's Old Key West Resort is a 761-room Resort that conjures up the leisurely romance of the Florida Keys. Discover the tranquil community of Conch Flats—an island hamlet of brilliant green landscapes, pastel-colored Victorian architecture and ornate gingerbread accents. Nestled among swaying palm trees, shimmering waterways and the lush golf fairways of the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, the Resort's Guest rooms include studio, one-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom Villas. ![]() Old Key West Studios are unique amongst the DVC resorts in that they offer 2 Queen beds rather than a bed and a sofa bed. The one bed room villas are the largest on property, or they can be combined together to make a spacious 2 bedroom villa. ![]() ![]() The central building, named the Hospitality House, has 2 restaurants, along with a lounge, store, arcade and more. Adjacent to the Hospitality House is the "Recreation, Exercise, Swimming and Tennis" complex—a great place to work out on state-of-the-art exercise equipment, relax in the sauna or rejuvenate with a healing massage. Enjoy our 4 heated pools, the largest of which boasts 149,600-gallons and offers a water slide, children's pool and spa. Take advantage of ample opportunities for active fun, including facilities for basketball, tennis, volleyball, golf and boating. And when you're ready to dine, treat yourself to Olivia's Café, a casual restaurant serving up Florida seafood and American cuisine with a Caribbean twist. At the end of the day, retire to your studio or Villa featuring convenient home amenities like kitchens or kitchenettes, living rooms and in-room laundry facilities. There may be some distance between your room and the Hospitality House. If you or a member of your party have difficulty walking distances, you may wish to consider a car—parking is available adjacent to the front door of your Villa. Disney's Old Key West Resort has been designated by the Florida Green Lodging Program, recognizing the Resort's environmentally responsible practices. Activities for Children In addition to the 4 pools and facilities for sports activities, there are 2 arcades, bike rentals and a playground. Conch Flat Community Hall offers board games, foosball, table tennis and a schedule of daily activities including arts and crafts, sandcastle-building events and video game tournaments. Location and General Information Disney's Old Key West Resort is located near Epcot theme park, Disney's BoardWalk Area and the Downtown Disney Area. It is a smoke-free Resort; smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor smoking locations. Digg

The studios also have a kitchenette area which is very useful for breakfast. There is a toaster, microwave, coffee maker and fridge. We liked to have breakfast in the room before setting out for our day.
We had an ok stay at OKW but we probably wouldn't rush back. Mainly due to the size of the resort, which is very large, I wouldn't want to stay here without a car.
We ate at Olivia's which was excellent, and the staff in Hospitality House were also excellent.
All in all, a mixed experience. Nice large room, but we prefer the DVC resorts that are more hotel in style as we felt a bit isolated.
The villa was huge! The main living room/kitchen area had a 3 and 2 sweater sofa there was also a huge chair and foot stool so plenty of room for the whole family to relax together! The 3 seater and chair pulled out into beds. We never used these so can't comment ob there comfort? There was a full size table with 4 chairs and the kitchen was stocked with all your cooking essentials! There was even washing up liquid and some fresh coffee. There was a flat screen TV with Disney channels, news, weather and the what to do in Disney that day etc. leading from the living area was a large balcony with a placid table and 4 chairs! There was a small lake and it was very peaceful! Lovely for having a nice cup of tea in the mornings or a glass of wine when you return from a busy day at the parks!
The main bedroom was huge (a theme throughout these rooms!) a massive king size bed, plenty of drawer space and a flat screen TV! There is also a door leading out to the balcony! Then we go into the bathroom where there a a huge corner whirlpool bath! This can fit me and my 2 kids in comfortably but to get the most relaxation kick the kids out ;0) this then leads to a shower, toilet and dress mirror! Just off this was the washer, dryer and ironing board.
Onto the second room where there's 2 queen size beds, a small table and more drawer space and flat screen TV. The bathroom her has a shower, toilet and sink. There is a separate area with a mirror to put your face on before a night out on the town.
There is a small pool here with a snack bar. It was nice and quiet and just perfect for taking a dip after a hard day and to cool off from the humid heat of the summer. There were lots of love bugs so beware! There is also a hot tub! It does get very hot but I had at least 1 dip a day in here and it allowed me to chat with others and make some new friends.
The buses came very frequently and I don't think we ever waited longer than 10 minutes for a bus!
We spent 1 day at the main pool area and the kids loved the slide and it was nice to be so close to all the amenities!
This resort is amazing! We would gladly recommend Old Key West to family and friends and we are agonising on whether we should return for our next Disney holiday or try somewhere new? As the rooms have been refurbished this resort is fresh, clean and just fabulous!
