The Main Street Electrical Parade!" The Main Street Electrical Parade brought the Magic Kingdom streets alive at night, and thousands of park guests lined the roads to watch it every night. This, however, didnt last forever - it was replaced with SpectroMagic! another truly sensational night time light parade. As part of the 2010 "Summer Nightastic!" Promotion, the Main Street Electrical Parade returned to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort, with improved audio, new effects, and brand new characters and floats - the parade is now led by Tinker Bell in all her glory, and she periodically sends a whoosh of pixie dust down the line of parade floats to keep the music alive. It was intended to only last until August 14th 2010, but on July 29th 2010, Disney extended its run indefinitely. It begins with Tinker Bell, and continues to bring you much loved characters such as Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Snow White and the 7 Dwarves, Pinnochio, Alice in Wonderland, the whole Cinderella clan (including the ugly sisters and her mice!) Peter Pan, and Captain Hook along with a whole host of other characters, all mixed with an array of amazing floats lit with thousands and thousands of brightly coloured LED lights. This parade, like SpectroMagic, is awe-inspiring and a great way to end any Magic Kingdom Day. Be sure to get your spot early - the streets often fill up to an hour in advance. A favourite viewing place is just outside the Chapeau in Town Square. You get a great view of the front and side of each float, and you can make a quick escape as soon as the last float passes. Definitely not one to miss. ![]() ![]() Digg
