FAQ on a stay at a Universal Hotel.

Q. How many days of benefits do I get for a 1 night stay.
A. You get the hotel benefits for the day you check in and the day you check out as well as the duration of your stay. A 1 night stay gets 2 days of benefits, a 2 night stay gets 3 days etc.

Q. How do we use the front of the line (FOTL or Universal Express Unlimited)
A. The hotels have introduced a photo type card as a security measure. These will be generated using machines located in each of the hotels, pictures above. This card is presented at each entrance to the express lines. Each person named on the booking will get their own pass.

Q. Do we need to stay together to use FOTL or can we split up
A. Each person staying in the room is given their own room key and FOTL pass to use as required.

Q. what is the difference between the Hotel FOTL and express pass plus.
A. The express pass plus tickets are once only use at each applicable ride, the hotel FOTL benefit gives unlimited access to the express queues.

Q. Does the hotel FOTL include park entry.
A. No, you still require separate tickets for park entry.

Q. Is there any other way I can get unlimited access to the express queues without a hotel stay.
A. Yes there is the Universal VIP ticket which includes park access and unlimited express queue access. These range from $170 to $260 for an adult for a 1 day, 2 park ticket as a guide. As these include park admission it might work out cheaper for a party of 1 or 2 than a room stay. 2, 3 and 4 day VIP tickets are also available.

Q. Can I use the FOTL benefit for special events like Halloween Horror Nights.
A. No, the FOTL benefits only count for normal park hours, special separately ticketed events do not permit use of the FOTL

Q. Check-in is from 4pm, can I check in early?
A. Yes you can check in early as you practically want. Your room may not be ready but you will be given your room key. If you give a mobile number you will receive a text or call when your room is ready.

Q. What can I do with my luggage if I check in early
A. You can leave it in the car or give it to Bell Services to take care of.

Q. Is there hotel parking and what are the costs.
A. Each of the 3 hotels has its own car park adjacent to the hotel. Parking is per night (2 days) and costs $18 for self parking, $25 for Valet excluding tax. However this is cheaper than two days parking in the garage. Note you can leave the car in the car park on the day of departure until you leave the park and head home.

Q. Check out is 11am, can I use the benefits and car park for the day I check out.
A. Yes, your room key has the dates of your stay and can be used in the parks for FOTL benefit until the park closes. Your car can remain in the car park that day until you leave.

Q. How many people can be booked into a room.
A. There is a maximum of 5 people that can be booked into a room. The 5th person would be required to use a roll away bed at a cost of $25 if they don’t take their own option.

Q. Does the room rate vary by the amount of children and adults.
A. The standard room price is normally given for a max of 2 adults and 3 children. Any more than 2 adults will incur a nightly charge of $25 per adult for the 3rd, 4th and 5th adult..

Q. Do the room sizes vary between the 3 hotels.
A. RPR standard is 335 sq feet, then HRH at 375 sq feet with PBH at 450 sq feet.

Q. Does a hotel stay entitle us to early access to Islands of Adventure.
A. Yes, your hotel benefits include 1 hour early access to WWoHP.

Q. Can I use the FOTL access during early admission to IoA
A. No, early access is limited to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff, Dragon Challenge and Caro-seuss-el.*
*Caro-seuss-el is being replaced by Spiderman from the 18/3/12 to 30/6/12.

A. You can book online at the universal Orlando website or the Loews website. You can also phone to check availability and prices for all three hotels using 001-888-273-1311 (or 0808 234 2305 which seems to be OK for direct room bookings only, free for most phones except mobiles.
Mon to Fri, 7am to 1am EST.)
How you book makes no difference to the perks of a stay, worth having look in the Accomodation section to see what deals, if any, are currently around.

Q. Are there any discounts on the room prices.
A. Yes, personal AA membership will provide 10-18% discount typically, Annual Pass holders also qualify for a discount subject to availability which might be limited at busy times if booking at short notice. Longer stays may benefit from the “stay more save more” discount of 10% to 30% typically.

Q. Do the bookings require a deposit.
A. Normally most bookings will require a 1 night stay as a deposit, regardless of length of stay.

Q. When do I pay the balance
A. You will pay the balance on check-out.

Q. Can I pay the balance early
A. Yes you can contact the hotel and ask for an advance payment form, you can fax this back to them to authorise payment.
