St Petes Beach v. Clearwater

Thought i had my holiday sussed but then a relative said we would prefer Clearwater to St Petes Beach. What could you recommend? What is there to do in either place?

Not been to either before but we are spending our 3rd week at Clearwater so i hope your relative is right

We much prefer St. Pete`s. When we go to Orlando we always visit St. Pete`s for the day. We go to the beach for a while and then drive down to the pier. Jon and the boys fish while I have a look around the pier shops and aquarium. Two minutes in the car up the road is The Bay Mall where they have a lovely Johnny Rockets.
