As for recipe, I believe they are made using a pre-mix and the frozen ones are made up in a "slush puppy" style machine.

2 measures of tequila, 1 measure of cointreau, 4 measure of lemon/lime juice.
Put this in a smoothie maker with a couple of handfuls of ice and you get the genuine article.

The bought ones often are made from a premix and tend to have some sugar in so if you like them less tart than the above recipe says add some sugar but a classic margerita doesn't usually have it in.

Lol dont have the reciipe for the Margaritas but i do have the dole whip recipe. Never made it though so cant comment.

2 cans (20 oz. each) DOLEŽ Crushed Pineapple
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, mini marshmallow or mini
chocolate chips, (optional)
1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped

Drain crushed pineapple; reserve 2 tablespoons juice. Set aside.
Place crushed pineapple, lemon juice, lime juice, sugar and reserved pineapple juice in blender or food processor container. Cover; blend until smooth. Stir in cherries or marshmallow or chips, if desired.
Pour into two 1-quart freezer zipped bags. Store bags flat in freezer. Freeze about 1-1/2 hours or until slushy.
Stir gently pineapple slush into whipped cream until just blended, in large bowl. Return to freezer until completely frozen, about 1 hour. Serve.

In fact, think i might post it as a thread.

Now must save that margarita recipe aswell
