We went 29 Dec 05 and everywhere is child friendly, this is Disney!!!

We went to Epcot for NYE which because it is so large copes with the crowds well, and they also put on extra fireworks etc. Our twins were 5 and with the time difference ended falling asleep as we ate at about 7pm, so we ended up back in the room for about 9pm. It depends how old your children are and how late they can stay up.

The decorations and shows are mainly up and operational but will start dissapearing as the new year goes on, but I seem to remember lots of things still about around the 4th Jan.

HA HA - I can't believe I put 'child friendly' - We both don't drink so we want to go somewhere thats not too rowdy etc - thank you so much for your reply though - did you stay at a villa ?

No, we stayed at the WDW Dolphin which is walking distance to Epcot!!

If you go to a park then they dont tend to be "rowdy" however everywhere will be busy and you would be best booking an ADR if you intend to eat in a restaurant somewhere.

Did you intend to visit a park or were you looking somewhere away from Disney etc?

You will be able to get very good, very cheap Christmas 2006 or New Year 2007 T-shirts towards the end of your stay...

Another lot going on 30th December  , we are flying Virgin from Gatwick.

Haven't decided what to do New Years Eve yet, bit worried if we went to Magic Kingdom and see their New Years Eve in at midnight how we would then get back to I-Drive.

Wherever we end up, I can't wait

We went last xmas (29/12) for 2 weeks, and stayed in a villa.

We loved it, but the parks were BUSY!!

Towards the end of the 2nd week the parks became less crowded. The pay off is that you get to see all the xmas decorations/parades/shows, which are fantastic.

Some might say it can get a little chilly at night too....forget that...on some nights we were absolutely freezing in the parks so take some fleeces, gloves, hats and anything else that might keep you warm, especially if you are sitting watching a show of any sort.

On NYE, we chickened out, and did not visit a park. We had a rest day, and a lovely meal at the Yacht Club, followed by a stroll around the Boardwalk.

For vast amounts of too much detail, see the trip report below.
