has anybody been to mgm recently because i am dying to find out whether starwars is still there and what was it like are the characters walking around alot so you can grab few pics and autographs

I'm sure the characters are only out during the Star Wars weekends in May.

We were there in late June/Jule and saw Darth Vader and Stormtroopers both outside the ride and in the parade (this was probably around 24 June).

Not sure if they are a permanent feature but they were very entertaining, DD would probably disagree as she locked herself in the buggy and looked away whenever she saw Darth Vader

We've been end May/early June in previous years when the star wars weekend? week? has been on, and Stormtroopers stood on top of the ticket entry as you entered, and the characters ( couldn't name them all but son knew who they all were! ) were everywhere in the park.

This year we went later - July - and the theme wasn't on so there was nowhere near as many Starwars characters, but we still found Darth Vader and a storm trooper who were outside the Star Tours ride for photo ops!

I've know there to be storm troopers around in June, couldn't tell you about any others as I ran off and hid. I wasn't expecting them then suddenly there were loads of them.

I met Chewbacca outside the ride back in 1991. I have been back to Orlando 4 times since then and have been on the ride many times but have never seen him again. The Stars and Their Cars Parade does have several Star Wars characters in it: Darth Vader, C3PO, R2D2, and Laia and Luke.

The Star Wars are only on during May and June but the star tours ride is open all the time.

Theres always next year, should be good as its something like 30 years since star wars was first released

I took a photo of 3 random guys kneeling on the ground with their hands behind there heads while 3 stormtroops with guns and Darth Varda stood over them, brilliant, and that was only last week.

I have only ever been in November & December so it must have been then when I saw Chewbacca. However, as I already mentioned, that was back in 1991. I suspect that its true they only appear now during the Star Wars weekends. And in the parade of course.
