This isn't for me as a day fishing sounds as interesting as watching paint dry to me BUT my BIL would love to go fishing whilst staying on the Gulf Coast.
Has anyone done this before? I have been looking into it but it seems really expensive. I don't really know where to start as I have no idea about fishing.
Does anyone have any advice as far as fishing goes?

He can always fish off the end of the pier at Clearwater.
We are intending to do this in December
When we visit Orlando, we always go to St. Pete`s for the day. Spend a few hours at the beach and then drive down to the pier where my DH and our sons fish and I look around the pier shops and aquarium. You can hire the fishing rods etc. and buy bait at The Pier Bait House which is on the pier. You can check it all out here www.stpete-pier.com :-)
We have never done this, but been along the marina and enquired, yes it can be very expensive, starting from $200 and thats only for a few hours.

Thanks Fiona, great advice.
This is the kind of thing my BIL is after and the good thing is there'll be something for everyone.
Glad I could be of help. :-)
