We have 2 days and an overnight stay planned as this was our favourite park in Florida last time.

We absolutely love BG, however, you can usually do everything in one day without being rushed. Its all down to how you feel, it might be more relaxing if you did 1/2 the park one day and 1/2 the park the next but I feel one day is usually enough.

Have fun, we love Busch.

Depends if you want to ride coasters til you're dizzy and also spend time with the animals. If so an overnight trip is probably worth it. If you just want to do one or the other I should say a day will do it if you get there early.

1 day is likely to be enough to do everything, including your favourite 'coasters a couple of times and the drive is not that bad, IMHO.

When we went in Oct '04, the park was open 10 - 5 and we didn't manage to do everything - in fact, I think we probably did not do about a quarter of the park, although we did do a couple of the shows (which we thoroughly enjoyed) but they do take up a lot of time.

This is why we plan a 2 day visit this time - try and be a bit more leisurely and still do more.

Nope! We didnt think anything of it either! Would waste a day of my hols going back!! But life would be boring if we all liked the same things!

One day is enough for us - love the coasters, hate the animal bits - just a personal thing.
And IMHO is it the WORST park for food/refreshments!
The drive is less than an hour when you know the route.

We loved Busch Gardens too. We went last Monday [I can't believe it - seems like a million years ago!] and found that it wasn't quite as busy as the other parks. The only problem was the downpour and it stopped most of the rides for a while, but did the Africa walk thingy and took some awesome pics of the gorilla who I swear posed for the camera. Twas a little bit of culture in what was a mad fortnight! :spin:

Do you have older kids...i.e. teens??? or do you love coasters? If Yes to either / both of these...then 2 days at Busch would be great!!

We loved it...when we did the Gulf coast last trip we spent 3 days at Busch.
The coasters are great.....and the wildlife side was excellent too. You can meet with some informative guides, and can easily spend the best part of a day looking at the wildlife side of Busch.

If your kids are younger...say under 9 / 10 or so...then 1 day should do it...mainly cos they'll be too small for some of the major rides.

We're back on the Gulf in February ...and Busch is a definite for our two...especially the new Sheikra ride !!

The food is okay...and to be honest with all those major thrill rides...a big meal is the last thing you'd want!!

If you're a fan of coasters then it's definitely worth doing, we enjoyed ourselves so much at BG, totally different to the Orlando parks and definitely worth some extra time!

I would do two days .. love this park it is my favourite park in Florida :)

I do not think you need to stay overnight though, as the I4 now is super with three lanes most of the way :)

from highlands reserve it was quicker to get to Busch Gardens than it was to get to universal Studios!

We are in that area again next year.............it is a straightforward run to Tampa. I am in Tampa on business in October...may pop in again.

We love Busch Gardens. We went in July & the Q's were minimal. The park was open from ?9am (might have been earlier - we got there at 9.15am) and didn't close till 10pm.

As has already been said - its a straight run to BG. If I stayed, it would be to combine another attraction (eg Canoe escape nearby, or the Homosassa state park, or swimming with manatees in crystal river) coz we managed the park in one day, riding all the coasters at least once!

I suppose it depends on how old any children are & whether they do the big rides, or whether such a long day will be too much for them.

We didn't leave until 7.15pm, and the day flew by. Its the longest DH has survived in a theme park, and even he went on all the coasters - with the exception of Sheikra - wuss (DS, DD & I did this ride 3 times!)

We went two years ago and stayed at the baymont inn hotel which is right next door to busch itself.

Very basic hotel with complimentry breakfast, found a nice little sports bar on the corner by the hotel and had a lovely drink, played pool etc.

Definatly worth staying over in our opinion.

We have rented a vila near Tampa for our second week this year so could go every day if my stomach could take it!!

Go for it,there are pleanty of other places near by to see if you want to as well!

I wouldn't bother staying overnight, it's only an hour away although you should be able to do it in a day. You certainly would if my wife was walking you around it and setting the itinerary ! ;)
