I would love to do something special for my wife while we in Florida in February that is personal to her. I took her to DC last time and she absolutely loved the swimming/ snorkelling in the reefs in particular. Now DC is not an option this time and Typhoon Lagoon is also closed for refurb whilst we are there. Does anyone know if there is any where else where this sort of thing can be done?

Please post any suggestions/links you may have.

Thanks;)

We've snorkelled twice in Florida. First time was on a tour from St Pete Beach on a motor launch dolphin watching. You take the boat over to Egmont Key, watching the dolphins on the way, then sit on the beautiful beach there with your pre-packed picnic for a couple of hours, nosying around the Key. It was a great place.

Back on the boat then for a trip out to a little (man-made) reef where we snorkelled. It wasn't the most interesting of the snorkelling trips, but the whole afternoon was really great.

The second was a snorkelling trip out from our hotel on Islamorada in the Florida Keys. This was everything we'd dreamed it would be. Beautiful coloured corals, amazingingly pretty fish, turtles, rays - awesome!

Let me know if you need any more info on either of these.

Might not float your boat but there is a shark dive at Sea world. About £100 i think to snorkel in a cage inside the large shark tank. Not done it but have done one similar in this country that was superb.

I dit the sharktank dive and loved it its safe no chance of shark getting at you if you are concerned about that.
You are also givena talk about sharks before you enter the water -full of info
this would get my :thumbs-up
