First tell her to sign up to the DIbb. :D
Then get her to look at booking flights and hotel herself individually. All American hotels sell there rooms per room and not per person so there will be no discrimination if she is travelling alone.

Hi Angel.
Basically I know how she feels because I used to see my Mum getting stressed about holidays after my Dad left.
Basically what she did was to buy herself a timeshare with some divorce money - she bought an RCI one and still loves it. She exchanges it all over the world and was great for times when she was a bit skint because there are lovely ones in the UK and Spain for when u just can't afford the USA. To be honest I don't know how much they cost
However the one thing I hate on the DIBB is when people assume that everyone has the same cash as you. Being amazed when people fly economy to the point of calling it 'cattle' class or steerage. Having only ever flown economy I find these comments hurtful occasionally and I understand that she probably wants a cheaper alternative.
Can I ask where she wants to take her as may have more local advice. It is always cheaper for single parents to book separately. Why doesn't she see where Jet2, Flybe, Ryainair etc flies to, get 2 flights and a twin room in a hotel for a week

Hi
She wants to take her to Florida but just can't afford it. So she is thinking of Spain, probably Majorca.
I never thought about telling her to book seperatley.
Thanks For the tips

Virgin do single parent deals at certain hotels in their Florida brochure. I used to have the same problem as I have been a single parent since my son was 8 months old. First time I went to Florida they were going to charge me the same price for my son as for me and he was only 2 years old at the time :mad2: If 2 adults went he could go for just £200 so I asked my Mum to come along too. :d: Another idea is to find out if there are any other single parents who you could hook up with. Get your friend to join the Dibb and then ask if there are others in the same situation who could maybe get together with her for a holiday.
Also, its no good for this year coz I'm fully booked, but in previous years I have asked around to see if anyone wants to join me in Florida as I am a Disney Vacation Club member and if we have a villa, as there are only 2 of us, there is plenty of room for a couple of others to come along too. I never ask for any money and it means that it only costs them the air fare and tickets etc. Why not see if anyone else can offer this on the forum
Good luck
