I'm off to Florida at the beginning of November and was wondering if anyone has been to either Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park or Silver Springs State Park. If so any information (ie. which is better/worth it)? Any comments would be appreciated.

We loved it. Here is my trip report from 2 years ago http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=41587&highlight=silver+springs

Also, if you do a search at the top of the page, put in Silver Springs, you will find a few other posts about it.

We went to Homosassa many years ago. It was a long drive from Orlando but we had a great day and really enjoyed it. Based on our experience back then, would definitely recommend it.

We went to silver springs in April for the first time it was really nice you could walk around in peace as there werent so many people as at disney ect. We got there for 11.00 and left around 3.00 it did start to fill up at around lunch time, but after lunch we only had to wait around 10 mins for the boat rides. We got a leaflet from gooding supermarket and there was a voucher for $5 off each adult which as there were four of us we thought was a good saving.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I think Silver Springs will probably be the better option as there is more to see there. Just wanted something different other than theme parks.

We went last September (2005) and they had a 200 Corvette car show on there and the music was provided by Lovin' Spoonful (Hot Town, summer in the City) and it was great, if you go to the Silver Springs website www.silversprings.com it will show you whats on. It's a great day out and the trails, adventure rides and glass bottom boat rides are great
