Now that we have returned, I want to go back again. Didn't take the opportunity to speak with the DVC reps (after all there wern't that many of them around ;) :tounge: ),
Where can I find a reliable source of information explaining how the vacation club works and the likely cost involved?
Thanks
J:D
On the Dibb, just search those 3 little letters. Or try google of course.:D
If you have any specific questions, ask away.

Thanks for the response Ian & Lynn. I appreciate what you say regarding a search on the Dibb and I have tried that.
What I was really meaning to ask was - Is there a central unbiased source of information about the DVC other than reading all of the posts?
thanks

I have been a DVC member since 1998 and its the best thing I have ever bought. I paid £6,000 for 150 points. This gets me roughly 3 weeks every 2 years. I could go more often if I went for shorter periods. We usually spend some time in a studio and some in a one bedroom villa. My home resort is the Boardwalk but as we prefer Old Key West we stay there mostly. But you can stay at any of the DVC Resorts or Disney hotels except All Stars (as long as there are vacancies when you want to go). My membership lasts until 2040. I bought the minimum number of points available. Each type of accommodation is worth so many points per night - depending on size, location and season. You can use your points however you like and you can purchase as many as you like. You also get certain perks by being a DVC member i.e. discounts etc. (including 10% at all Disney stores in UK). I could never afford to stay at Disney without my DVC membership. You can pay for it outright or you can get a mortgage. I put £1,000 down as a deposit while I was in Florida and then Disney gave me a mortgage for the rest.
Hope this helps a bit. If you want to know more just ask.
You can also ring: 800-500-3990 and request info.

We purchased 200 points last year. You can check out www.dvcmember.com which has all the necessary info. They also provide a dvd which is worth viewing.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will order the DVD and try to persuade the DW that its worth doing.
