has anyone used the DDP and how is it best to use it? For example is it best to eat breakfast off site and use your credits for lunch and dinner and how easy is it to get used to? Also can you use the credits to eat at the parks. Any advice would be appreciated!

Have not used it yet but if you check out my article here

it gives a lot of imformation on HOW to use it. There is a link to all participating venues too. So yes you can use the credits to eat almost anywhere. All the credits are put on your card at the beginning, you just use them as you wish - can have 3 counter service meals one day and two table service the next etc - when you eat, the bill receipt will tell you how many of that type meal you have next eg. 6 counter service left.
We plan to use counter for brekkie OR lunch depending on when we get up and where we are going that evening eg if going to a x2 table service meal that night will not have a big lunch.
Hope that helps

You can use the credits anytime and at any participating Disney restaurant, in side the parks or in a resort, the choice is yours. It depends on your eating habits whether you would choose to have a main (table service) meal at lunch or dinner or even breakfast. You can vary this day by day.

I would move the big meal around, have some dinners, but also some character breakfasts, and sit down lunches - just to vary the pace of the days, and also because the dinners are big meals. This probably isn't the best value for your money, but it would work for me.
I'd then have one other meal a day with the counter service, and maybe a snack if we get hungry. So if we have a sit down breakfast at say 10, then we might have a counter service at 6pm, or have a late breakfast/early lunch at a counter service and then go for the sit down dinner.

Great to hear these views - would be a good thread to add to with everyones experiences as they return from using the DDP. We go in Sept 2007 and I am already thinking of how we will use these vouchers!!!:d:

I'll let you know, we go in November and are using the DDP for the first time. I have a feeling that we'll come back about 2 stone heavier!!!!!!!

I used the DDp for the first time in July and loved it. It meant I could steer clear of my stingey ways and not look at the cost of meals taken in disney. I also loved organising my adrs for the holiday even if we just did it the day before we went to the restaurant.
Disney credit you plan to your room key at the start of your holiday and its up to you how you use it. You could have table services ( sit down restaurants) all day one day and none the next if thats what you want to do so its quite a flexible option to have.
We did not buy a meal in disney for the whole two weeks. As you get a snack a day as well we sometimes used these for breakfast as a bowl of cereal or a bagel only counted as a snack item. We also bought the refilable mugs so we did not use our snacks in the form of drinks.
So not to loose out when going out from disney we also used dome of the two table service meal options by doing the dinner shows at hoop dee doo and the poly.
I would definiately do this again as it helps with budgeting for the trip as well some of the restaurants we ate in the actual bill came to over $80 for the two of us and it had cost less that that a day for all our meals.
have a great time eating your way around disney
