My DD's Blue Badge has finally come through. Not had one before... do we have to pay to park at WDW now?

Yes, you just park in a different area.

You still need to pay (unless you are a WDW resort guest or AP holder) but follow the blue line to the disabled parking lot.

You don't pay for valet parking at any Disney resort though Helen; just tips.

I believe now you need a badge from the Orlando authorities in order to be able to park in disabled bays

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/rcdisable.html

in Orange county this is where you go

South Orlando Tag Agency,
11210 South Orange Blossom Trail,
Orlando,
Florida 32887

The name of the orange county tax collector is Earl K Wood.
You need to take your disabled badge plus id with you as proof plus a payment of fifteen dollars.

the office out was difficult to see as it is on the left hand side of the road as you head towards Florida Mall
Look for a sign that says Big Lots and it is in this plaza of shops.

I have just come back and had no problems using DD's EU Blue Badge, as said before following the blue lines to the disabled parking, you may need to show it to the CM who is directing traffic. We used it in all WDW parks, Seaworld and at Florida Mall and Premium Outlets too :)

We parked in all disabled bays with our badge. Never a problem anywhere. If you're planning to go to Universal, make sure you know where your hazard lights are as they ask you to switch them on when you go to park in the disabled bit.

Helen, we hang DS2's blue badge from the rear view mirror as the Americans do.

We also photocopy it to leave on our car at the airport.

Remember to get a colour photocopy Helen or scan it and print it off as we have ( this way if you damage the copy you can print another one off).

And all of them getting to the parking lot ahead of you ;) :nonono:

We always use a colour copy of DS's badge now and take a couple of spares as one year the original one was quite badly damaged by the sun. Just something else to bear in mind.

I have always used my DS blue badge in Orlando and never had any problems.
After a previous post about it not being accepted, I e-mailed Orange County Information, they sent a reply back saying, just use it as we do over in the uk, and that it is accepted everywhere.

we found and have used our blue badge for years now in Florida it was accepted as it is here we did not need to go to visitors bureau we were informed by the sheriffs office we respect your blue badge here just make sure you have it displayed...and yes we did pay for parking at the parks but we parked closer to the entrances
