View Full Version : What is your favourite sandwich?

After about a week in the parks eating burger, chips and pizzas and drinking untold fizzy drink i get the urge for a normal sandwich. Not from a coffee house, but from a traditional bakery.

Also not a subway because they don't do a french stick or a crusty bloomer

All I want is a prawn and mayonaise sandwich or french stick.

two questions

1) What is your favourite sandwich?

2) Is there anywhere in the parks or Florida where you can pick up a nice fresh sandwich? such as a salad bar?

I don't mind making it from products bought from Walmart etc. I just want to know if there is a shop, because if i make a prawn sandwich in the morning, I dread to think how it would taste and smell after being in a bag for 5 hours at 80 degrees plus :omg: LOL

Try Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney, they make them up to order so couldn't be fresher, but I don't think they do prawn mayo.
Lots of places do lovely sandwiches, I'm a big club sandwich fan and have had some lovely ones at Grand Floridian Cafe, Bahama Breeze and Margaritaville to mention a few.

I'm another fan of The Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. Choice of 13 hot sandwiches and 4 cold ones plus salads / drinks. Can recommend 'The Original 1762' - beef, cheddar and horseradish - costs about $5 for a huge plateful........

Americans seem to have a different idea of sandwiches to us (not a bad thing to me but I can imagine it isn't to everyone's taste!) I think your best bet would be to buy the ingredients from Walmart and pack it with ice-water bottles if you really want your prawn-mayo fix ;)

I usually make a point of having turkey sandwiches from the deli at Seaworld, and from Beverly Hills Boulangerie at Universal.

Also love the meatball subs from just about anywhere.

I have also had a very memorable turkey club from a deli up in Winter Park, just along from the Scenic Cruises.

OMG, I'm starving again now!

The ONLY American sandwiches I like are club ones - for some strange reason they cannot get them right here, although had a fab one at a taverna in Greece?:confused2
Best yummy butty here - 2 slices of Granary bread (M&S do a lovely large one) - crunchy peanut butter on base slice, turkey breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato, then mayo on top slice of bread. To die for:tounge: :tounge: :tounge:

We love the Earl of Sandwich too - i love the beef and bleu and DH loves the Full montagu, the kids usually have tuna melt or pizza sandwich. They are very obliging and are happy to leave out any ingredients you don't want in your sandwich.:D

I love skippy peanut butter and cream cheese bagel, over there we bought fantastic sandwiches from Publix Deli, so big we could only eat half, the other half kept in the fridge for the day after. Choose what you want, I had turkey, ham and swiss cheese with salad on a french stick roll.
