Does anyone else think that the savoury food is really sweet in Florida ?
I have to search our Italian bread and unsweetened butter. The toast tastes really wierd where ever I've tried it. They also seem to put sugar in scrambled eggs.
Any tips for places to eat without sugar in savouries ?!!
Thanks

Our bread due tend to be on the sweet side. If you are at the grocery store you'll see a lot of them described with honey, etc.. They generally brush the tops of the breads for a nice golden look.
Ask/look for french breads. You can also check to see if they are using honey butter and not standard butter. A lot of places use spreads which will have sweeteners.
I've never heard of eggs having sugar in them.
I do know that when I came back to America I did notice the 'sweet' right away. I think although we eat the same types of stuff our palettes notice the difference because of the way they are prepared. When in doubt, ask.

I reckon in most places you could ask for your meal to be prepared without added sugar, scrambled eggs definitely could be.

Hi Deb
The best ones we had were on the 192 up near Formosa Gardens, the turning where Splendid China used to be in the supermarket there.
Other than that, the ones in Goodings at the Crossroads are pretty good.
