I can't believe how close it is until we go, we seem to have been planning this forever!! :d: :d:

I am now having silly thoughts, things I am sure I know the answer to but my mind is not funtioning as it should!

I am trying to picture what we should all wear in and around the waterparks. Do you wander about in swimsuits all day or do most people wear shorts & t-shirt?

What about on the slides - just swimsuits/tankini/trunks/shorts or can you wear a t-shirt over the top - same for kids?

What about on your feet??

Sorry, I can expect a few more silly questions over the next few days! :confused2

most people walk around in their swim gear but its competley up to you and your fam (what your most comfy in)
some rides and slides will allow you to wear shorts but others dont! but as far as i am aware you are allowed to wear a tshirt on them all! if not you can just take it off and hold it on the ride thats wat my DF sister did in TL. have fun xxxx

Pretty much what you feel comfortable in - I wear a cossie, and if I am wondering round, just add a sarong around my waist - but seen all ages, all sizes, both men and women, with just cossies, with T shirts over cossies, occasionally with shorts on too. For footwear - I use flip flop style sandals, but have seen everything from barefoot to water shoes to trainers:D

Lesley the heat is searing at times and I would always recommend UVshirts for the kids. Ordinary t shirts end up bagging and dragging with the weight of the water so the very area your trying to cover ends up exposed. If you can buy water shoes for everyone (Id wait and buy them there in a walmart - very cheap) but to be honest we didnt really use them though I will next year as my sprint time on the hot concrete inproved over the two weeks:pgig: .
For you it depends on what your comfortable in. Bikinis definately come adrift on the water slides:blush:  to save mortification wear a one piece or a tankini or I used a coverall (from debenhams) saved blushes all round and histerical laughter from on-lookers at the bottom of summit plummit:angry:

most of all have a fab time xx

We wear our cossies all the time - but I occasionally throw a T-shirt on as I burn very easily and it happens very quickly even if it's overcast - especially just bobbing for ages on the lazy river.
I always wear aqua shoes too - the paths are very harsh on your feet, as are the steps up to some of the shutes. You have to take them off and hold them for the "people" shutes like Summit Plummet, but you can keep them on inthe raft rides, tube rides etc

when we went there I wore my cozzie for everything apart from if I was walking round aimlessly looking for DH I wore my sarong. DH wore his trunks and that was it. Basically jus wear what you feel comfortable.

Thanks everybody, will add aqua shoes to my ever extending Walmart shopping list.

Think it will be swimsuits for the girls with t-shirts & sarongs and trunks/shorts & t-shirts for the boys + lots of waterproof suncream

Lol, Lana that sound like you are speaking from experience!!!!

We got UV tops and wore them in and out of the water. It is *really* easy to get burned at the waterparks so go careful.

We got them from Decathlon Sports - don't know if you have one near you. They were extremely cheap (well under £10 each) and worked very well.

Too true :cool2: - we got badly sunburnt in February this year at Blizzard Beach

Also we did not find it easy to find good after sun products (including treatment for sunburn ) - they only seemed to sell perfumed cooling gel in Publix and Walmart....which was not really suitable for bad sunburn.:(

The Green Goo they sell as aftersun is very good - we have used the Banana Boat stuff before and it has a small amount of local anaesthetic in it as well as being very cooling:thumbs-up

Yes, it was better than nothing .....but we were looking for something a bit more 'medical'..especially since I have very sensitive skin....:(

I'll be packing the calamine lotion next time just in case
