I'm sorry if this has been posted before BUT we've just got back from 2 weeks at Pop Century and thought I'd mention the following:

When you book in at Pop Century and I assume any other Disney Hotel, they should ask you if you wish to place your Credit Card on record so they can give you $500 credit to spend merely by providing your room "key/card" to any vendor at any Disney Owned park.

ITS FANTASTIC. Doesn't matter if its to purchase a 6ft high Mickey Mouse cuddly toy or an Ice Cream. Just produce your key card and its debited to your account. Means no worries about carrying money around PLUS the key card is waterproof so you can take it to the water parks without the fear of gettin' yer money soaked.

When you finally leave they give you a full print out of everything you spent to check and sign.

It made life VERY easy and worry free.

Makes is so easy to spend you can not keep track of it, which is exactly the reason they do this as people spend more.

This is a great perk for onsite guests. It can save you money as you usually benefit from a higher exchange rate when paying by credit card and saves all the hassle of carrying cash or cheques.

You can choose which room cards have charging privileges and you can get a printout of your spending daily from the front desk if you want to keep track.

At checkout you don't even need to visit the desk to settle your bill, they will do an express checkout where the bill is delivered to your room on the day you leave. If everything is in order you can just go and they will charge your card accordingly.

Its a good thing- perhaps a little too good, I had a bit of a shock last jime just how much I had spent on rubbish like icew creams and drinks!

They have been doing this for a long time now, when we stayed at ASm in oct 99 they sent you a copy of your charges every time your spending came to $500, it also shows you what card made the gharge. We allowed DD(13) to charge, it saved a lot of time waiting in lines at food courts. :thumbs-up

U can do this at Universal as well, what we do though is actually just had Traveller cheques over so we spend like a debit card rather than credit

It's good if you're very sensible with money/keeping track of your spending but if you're like me and a little quick to spend without thinking on cards it can be easy to get carried away, hence I will not be doing it for our trip. The slight inconvenience of carrying TCs will be better than a huge bill at the end I think.
