Can anyone advise me of what the dinner shows are like for children we have DD10, DD6 and DD3 but with Special needs.
I wanted to know how quickly do you get the food, and how entertaining is it for the kids?
Also do any of them do early dinner shows, as the youngest tends to want to eat at about 5pm at the latest.
We have been thinking about Capone's as that seemed a smaller sort of affair, and of course much cheaper is a bonus too, has anyone been here before and is this any good?

Ive heard dolly partons dixie stampede is great and the food too..and when you think what a meal would cost for you all I think its sposed to be pretty reasonable. My DH didnt want to go when we were there :( but dont go to arabian nights..disgusting food and then they give a card round telling you what to tip($5 an adult $3 a child)

lilzanna, it looks like you aren't going to get much luck with recommendations and I think I can understand why. We went to Medievil Times four years ago with kids of similar age to your own. The kids loved it and the show is pretty spectacular with all that jousting and sword fighting. The problem is that - like with others - they are pretty unreserved about asking you for money.

For example at MT you pay to get in and you then move into an exhibit centre. This is interesting in that you can watch various people making chainmail or doing some other ancient trade - and they gently introduce you to items you can buy - some at astronomical prices. After that you are led into a big hall where they divide families into different "teams" or "colours". You can get your drink in here, but again it's pressure sales. You can buy tankards that get you unlimited cheap watered down beer - not so nice. They hold you in this area for ages - taking your picture as a family group and then taking your kids to an area to post for a computer generated photo. Your in the hall so long in fact that the kids can't help but notice the collection of cheap tat toys in there and ofcourse every kid wanted their foam sword, or whatever.....

Then eventually you get into the big hall. The show starts, another photo is taken, food is swilled out from a bucket in the dark, cheap cola is served, then just as you are getting into the show the server comes back to sell you your picture, then they come back for a tip - with recommended amounts - and before you go you can pay for a picture of your favourite knight.

I'm sure most adults will leave feeling well and truly ripped off, although the kids will absolutely love it. I'd suspect Dolly Parton, and Pirates would be much the same TBH.

Dolly Partons Dixie Stampede was REALLY good, definetly reccomend it.

You first go into a carriage room where there was a comedian/clown act on, he was really funny and you get drinks, quite expensive but you got a nice souvienier mug to take home. Then it's into the main room. Big place, and youre split up into north and south. The show starts, its very entertianing as the two sides are pitched against each other, lots of audience participation and the horses and riders are very talanted and do a good show.
The dinner is nice, soup and a very nice bread thing for starters, a whole chicken, big peice of pork and corn for the main meal and a crumble type dessert. All with unlimited pepsi, tea, coffee and alcohol.

Is very entertaining for both kids and adults and well worth the money for the dinner and the show.

One the best dinner shows that most ignore is the Makahiki Luau Dinner Show at SW cost is £20/adult £14/kids from tickets for fun, superior food (really mean thatplus its all u can eat) and great show also u dont need admission to SW to attend, as for asking for the tip all the dinner shows issue that recomendation

We did Wild Bills on 192 and it was great....the food was like most dinner shows and nothing to write home about but enjoyable enough but the show was great.

That said it was many years ago we went so what it is like now i cannot comment!
