 Hi Maria,
Yes I have seen calpol available over there your best bet is walgreens or another large supermarket - their pharmacies there are extremely good and they will tell you about cheaper alternatives etc if your unsure then ask we did they give great advice xxxx

If it's for children then I believe that there is 'Advil' (brand name) which contains ibuprofen as does Nurofen.
Calpol (which is paracetamol here) I believe is sold as 'Tylenol'. There is nearly always a Pharmacist on duty at either Publlix, Walmart or Walgreens who would help you.
They are very well qualified as Americans tend to use them more often than doctors because of the expense involved.

Tylenol is the calpol equivilant and motrin is the nurofen one. They come in a vast selection of flavours. We always bring some home with us as our DDs prefer them to our UK types plus Motrin comes in a "lasts for 8 hours version" which is good when they are poorly with a temperature as it means they can get a decent long sleep and start to feel better.
Acetaminophen is the US name for paracetamol, so any acetaminophen suspension is equivalent to Calpol. Tylenol is just the popular (expensive) brand. Walgreen's or Publix's own are cheaper.
Ibuprofen is called ibuprofen in the US, and there are several branded and un-branded versions.
