View Full Version : Power outlets in All Star Movies
Hi all,
I have tried searching for "power outlets" etc... but have come up blank. Does anyone know what the power socket situation is like in the ASMovies hotels?
We are taking 3 cameras with us which will all need charging at some point and I was wondering if any of the hotels had UK power outlets or if they even had ones that provided 240 volts.
Thanks peeps.

Welcome to the Dibb
You will need to buy an adaptor for the socket (only a couple of pounds each) we have never had problems charging batteries etc, can't remember how many sockets there are though.

Why not take a 4 way extension lead then you will only need one socket and one adapter. You may find things take longer to charge on the lower voltage but otherwise it will be fine.
There does always seem to be a shortage of outlets unless you unplug half the lamps in the rooms...

I bought one today from the Poundshop and it's safely tucked away in my suitcase!
we had no probs charging up camera batteries, but mobile would not charge. we had to buy an in car charger from the mall.

He he, my advice came in handy then? One US-to-UK plug adaptor and a small 4-way UK extension block is a much better (and much cheaper!) option than 4 US-to-UK adaptors - not to mention trying to find 4 spare mains outlets in your hotel room.
Many UK chargers for phones, laptops & cameras, although not all, will work fine in the US (where you won't find any 230v outlets, just 110v). Just check on the back of each charger in advance to see that it specifies that it works with 110v-240v.
