Hi to everyone:wavey: We're staying in Davenport in a villa, has anyone stayed there? What are the eating out and bars like? I believe there's a big Walmart close by for what sounds like EVERYTHING:d: :spin:

The villas around the Davenport area are not really in Davenport. Yes I know that sounds strange but it is true.
You could be staying anywhere along highway 27 which covers quite a distance. The big Walmart is situated on the 27 just north of the exit for the 192, and yes it has everything you could need, well nearly! There is another Walmart near Southern Dunes which is still on the 27 but much further south.
Do you not know the name of the subdivision you are staying in, if you do then I can give you some more information as to what restaurants are nearest to you.

Hi
Have just stayed in Glenbrook, which is in davenport area, but not realy, very confusing I know, our villa was listed as davenport but was actualy clermont, which is on the us27, each sub divison is different, but ours ws lovley, there is a walmart and win dixi and lots of other supermarkets along the US27, but we found it much easier to use the publix which is on the us192 just before the junction onto the US27.
Hope this helps.

Davenport is a big area.
It would depend on what your sub-division is called

Just before the turn for the Highlands reserve estate, there is a Publix supermarket (right on the junction that you will take off the U27). There are also a couple of restaurant/ take aways (Pizza and a Chinese) next door to it.
Further up the U27, just past the turn off for the 192 you take for the Disney Parks, is a huge Walmart on the right hand side (turn just past the gas station). Its easy enough to take a 2 minute detour when heading back from the Parks.

Our villa is on Sunset Ridge Davenport just on the I-4 and US27 junction. It is the nearest estate to this juction.
At the entrance to the estate is a tourist/visitors centre and handy for information which is new and i am led to believe it is open as was being buiilt in june when i was there.
There are a number of petrol stations a couple of chinese restraunts, piza places a perkins ,wendys, mcdonalds, burger king, wafflehouse, cracker barrel, to name a few and a pub, about 10 minuits away towards Hains City is a walmart and numerous other restrauns and take aways plus golf courses. if you go the other way towards the 192 (disney end) you have a publix with some restraunts a chemist another walmart and there are a number of new stores being built all the time.
hope this helps...

If you are looking for restaurants close to Highlands reserve, go south on the 27 and there is a Cracker Barrel about 2 miles south on the left, a Dennys and Chinese Buffet (not my cup of tea but some like it) a bit further down on the right near junction 55 to the I4.
Alternatively, right out of Highlands Reserve, and left at the first set of lights, Walgreens on the corner. First left again will bring you to Championsgate area, where there is another Publix, McDonalds, Walgreens, Gas Station, Chinese, Liquor Store, and a Chilis restauant. They are also building more restaurants there, and a TFI Fridays is due for completion soon. This route will also give you access onto the I4 (junction 58). We find this the quickest way to get the the Disney parks - rather than queueing in traffic on the 192 east.

You are closest to junction 55 of the I4. You have a Walmart south on highway 27 at Southern Dunes or north on the 27 at Cagans Crossing - about 10 minutes drive to either.

it's a lovely place, but unlike I-Drive theres nothing close enough to walk to. for restaurants, shops etc you will need to drive 5-10 mins,
