day trip to cocoa beach/ recommendations

we are going to orlando on thur 12/10 :grin: staying on I DRIVE
was thinking of cocoa beach for a day trip and maybe a overnight stay
has anyone got recommendations to visit and hotel to stay
we are 2 adults,2 kids

Just returned from FLA and done a day trippy to Cocoa Beach..... boy was the beach different to the Gulf Coast .... not nearly as presentable and tidy asthe GC ones and the sea was not what you could call Child friendly (my 4 year old got swept off her feet a few times by the biggies)... even the surfers called it a day later on.... visited the Ron Jon Surf shop which was excellent.

I wouldn't recommend going to Cocoa. Go west to the Gulf Coast instead. It is much nicer & the water is warmer.

it all depends how windy it is,we went to coco beach on boxing
the sea was calm and with waves and warm
the last two times weve been to the gulf coast it was really rough and we kept getting knocked over
its alot quieter than the gulf coast
and to get there its very easy and alot quicker

We had the first week of our honeymoon at Cocoa Beach back in 1991. It was great. We stayed at the Holiday Inn which backs onto the beach. Dinner at the Pier was wonderful. Not a lot for famillies if I remember rightly.
