Hi
Just wondered if anyone has done the dine with an astronaut at KSC with space pass as I am thinking of booking it as a surprise for my partner for his birthday as he hits the big 50 while we are away.
Just looking for opinions on whether it is worth doing or whether to just do the maximum access pass.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi we did it last year and even my DD who was 14 said it was a highlight to meet ans peak with someone whos had what can only be described as an amazing life, the meal itself is pretty good and a welcome respite from the heat

We did it in September. We had looked at the site and found out information on the astronaut it was meant to be. On the day it was some one completely different. The food was OK, nothing special. It was very interesting listening to someone who had really been in space. DS2 aged 7 was bored stupid but DS1 aged 10 seemed to enjoy it. Overall I was glad we did it.

I would recommend it .....though personally I felt it was great for the kids, as they tend to let them ask the questions..and that is quite entertaining in itself !
The food was good - as much as you could eat, simple hot / cold buffet type arrangement, a sweet and free hot & cold drinks. Considering you would probably have to eat somewhere when you are there, I thought it was excellent value for money.
You can get your picture taken with the astronaut after, and they are more than happy for you to use your own camera (they will take a picture for you), even though they have their own photographer to sell you prints.
My only reservation is that it does mean you can't really go and do the bus tours in the morning that go off round the launch pad / observation sites etc.. as you would struggle to get back in time without rushing.....but there is plently to do at the main exhibition centre site....just make sure you don't miss the Tom Hanks Imax film !! .
