Hi everyone,
I would like to find out which companies people have used for hot air balloon rides and how they booked them etc.
There is going to be seven of us (five adults and 2 kids) for an 18th birthday present for my little sister.
I would love to book with a company that others have used and that comes highly recommended.
Thanks xxx

Hi we went with bluewater balloons and we booked via email
We also went with bluewaterballoons.com, could not praise them highly enough. We booked on the internet, via email, prompt confirmation, they need a CC to register but do not debit it until after the flight. They also asked where we were staying, rang us the day before to confirm and picked us up at our hotel.

Went with Blue Water Balloons, they were very good, but never got the Champagne that was promised.
They all meet at the Best Western Lakeside all together in the mornings, so whichever one you choose - its mainly the same.
Did enjoy it, but probably wouldn't do it again.

We also flew with Bobs Balloons he and all his staff where great. We didnt pay a deposit we just gave him our credit card details. On the day we paid.
He telephoned us up, the evening before, he knew it was a surprise so he was very discreet indeed, they came and picked us up at 6 in the morning drove us to a big field to meet many others, we all helped blow the balloon up,
It was the highlight of our holiday. When we came into land the chase crew followed us and we had champane, strawberries, cheese, desserts, orange juice, ect, it was fantastic. We all could not rate Bob high enough. He is a genuine man, a real nice guy.
Here is his web site

Hi we booked direct with Bluewater balloons, so cant comment on attraction tix direct but thats a good price they are offering for them, just remember its an early rise u get picked up about 5am, its a great experience although must admit my kids liked it not loved it but we had a controlled crash landing which was not a great way to end the flight but that was mother nature

We flew with Orange Blosom Balloons in July. I would highly (pardon the pun!) recommend them.
We chose them because of the price, but also coz you get a buffet style breakfast with them at the Great Western Lakeside (after your onsite champers) - porkers or what? :d: A lot of the flight companies provide pastries with your champers for brekkie.
Excellent flight, but be prepared to work hard getting the ballon inflated (unless your the official family photographer - like me :pgig: ) and its all hands on deck to pack the balloon up again at the end. Its a great laugh.
This company was a bit cheaper coz they put more people in the basket. We were a family of 4 & had another Brit family of 4 in with us. To be honest, the kids loved having others with us. Made for more fun at the end when getting the air out of the balloon.

I booked with them on monday. There was no option on the website so I rang them up and booked with them. You have to let them know about the children and they email bluewater to let them know about the free child. My tickets arrived on thursday from them.

Hi we did a ballon flight on the 11th Oct with Bobs Balloons and it was fab. Bob himself was away and so it was another Bob and his crew that took us up. They were real good fun. Bob told us that a guy from York had bought out Bluewater Balloons and Orange Blossom Balloons and were joking with him over the radio about what he might call the company now..Orange Water or Blue Blossom Lol. All the different Balloon companies are in touch with each other on the morning of the flight to see where everyone is thinking is the best place to take off from. Although they are in competition which each other for business they are all very friendly and help each other out.
