Hi Guys
I have an energetic 5 yo DS who is very excited about our impending trip. I had planned to take a very lightweight stroller with us for when he gets tired at the parks in the evening but he is most perturbed and asked if he could take his scooter instead as strollers are for babies! If we go for long walks here, he always takes his lightweight folding scooter and it saves his legs from getting tired. My question is would DIsney or any of the other parks allow us to take a scooter in? Or is this a no, no? He's a big boy and I'm 5ft nothing so can't be giving him piggybacks when his legs ache!
Would love your view!

As far as i know, Disney don't allow it. I don't even think they allow the shoes with wheels in, Heeleys (sp?) i think they are called. But i must admit we saw a lot of children with those anyway.

But i doubt you could smuggle a scooter in.:d:

Just edited to add, trust me after a day at the parks he will be most glad of the stroller and i bet you he doesnt winge once about using it!

Hi, although I don't know the official line on scooters I would think that it's a big no no, We have never seen anyone using these, neither have we seen skate boards or rollerblades in the parks. TBH I would be most unhappy if a child with a scooter ran into any of my family.
On a more positive note, I would definately go with the stroller, on our first trip my kids were 7 and 9 and we ended up hiring a stroller some days as they do get VERY tired. At 5 years old he will certainly not be too big for a stroller, and will probably be only too glad to get in for a rest.

Scooters are a definate no-no in the parks!
My DD was 5 the first time we went and she thought it was quite a novelty to be wheeled around in one of those massive park strollers!

Our DS was 6 when we first went and we hired a stroller a couple of days just to give him break. We also went with my brother and family and his 6 yr old son also had a stroller.

Scooters are not allowed in any of the parks, let him walk the first day, then use the stroller when he begs for it ;) lots of bigger kids use strollers, he won't feel like the odd one out.
