I am going to watch a champions league game when I am out there .. well that's the plan.. I really enjoyed the games that I saw in Beef O Bradys..it is a family sports bar chain .. there is one on 192 (west) and another farther down the 27 which I may try this year ..
the one on 192 had two big screens showing two football (championsleague) games and then there were lots of tvs showing every sport you can think of..
they even have a tv in the loos so you don't miss anything ;)
Don't worry about the time difference as you will be 5 hours behind and they dont usually kick off until 7.45pm so it would be 2.24pm (a perfect time to have a rest from the themeparks ;))
I say do what you want on holiday that makes you happy... loads of people love to shop .. I think why? to that!

If you see if the teams you want to watch have an American supporters group on the web they will tell you where you can watch games and what times they are on.In September we were in our car parked outside our hotel listening to football on some station we had picked up on the car radio! These matches will be on in the evening in the UK so they should be on about 2.45 pm in America.Goodluck!

Hope you have a fantastic time. We got back this week and had begun to think we would see half of Inverness when we were there as it seemed every 2nd person I spoke to were also going over the Oct break or knew someone that was! Turns out that DBF recognised a few faces over the 2 weeks but my DD saw 3 different people from her class

I've been lucky, DH loves football but has never asked to find anywhere to watch a match. I won't tell him that there are places he could go,

We (well DH and DS) went here to watch Celtic -v- Benfica on Tuesday . Me and other 2 went to Pizza Hut for some nosh and had a look round the shops. the pub as absolutely packed out and was very smokey:( It cost $10 each to get in. When we were in orlando in 2003 we went to TGIF Front Row Sports Bar & Gril on I-drive to watch Celtic -v- Rangers (they are Celtic I am Rangers!!) and this was a much better venue in my opinion and no cover fee. I am sure there still show games there but then this pub was the official venue for orlando Celtic Supports and now it is the LL ....in my opinion TGI was a better place, but the boys were happy anyway - they saw the game and their team won;)

I don't give a hoot about TV when i'm away but dh likes to watch a game or two. We went to the George and Dragon on I-Drive. You can even have sausage and mash etc whilst your watching the game.... Very English:confused2

You won't find a bigger footy fan than myself....however, the closest I have come to 'linking up' with the footy world while in Florida was when I checked my teams Champions League score on the Internet at EPCOT. I really do look forward to doing different things when I am on holiday....real life is always waiting for me when I get home.

well I would still say go to beef O bradys .. there is one down the 27 :spin:
and for the people that cant understand why anyone would want to go to a game and say they can do that at home etc... people go to shopping malls at home but they still rave about going shopping in orlando .. a game lasts for about 105 minutes .... shopping takes hours and hours .. which is gonna eat more into park time?

Ahh but the shops are different in Orlando compared to the ones at home and a shopping day is just as good as a theme park day IMO. Not starting an argument just saying why it's different.
I do understand people wanting to watch a sports event, different priorities for different people. If my DH REALLY wanted to watch a game I wouldn't stop him but as it is he's happy to check the scores in the newspaper the following day. He supports Newcastle so IMO not worth watching given their current form.
If there is a game he wants to watch, I'll suggest going to Beef O'Bradys as I quite fancy the food there anyway, plus next year we're going with my SIL who is a HUGE Liverpool fan so she might appreciate it too. Would be ideal if there was a Newcastle v Liverpool match on!

ahh but I would say that it is different to watch a game in the states .. as you don't have to go to the bar and get a drink at half time etc .. the waiter comes around all the time asking if you want another .. and I cannot sit at home and watch a game in a pub eating the nicest buffalo chicken strips in the orlando area with a glass of bud light ;)
and a shop is a shop to me ..I used to think that it was great to go in the malls over there when it was all new and exciting back in the early 90s but now we have some lovely malls here.. and I hate shopping anyway LOL

Some games are pretty important:d: on I-Drive just down from Wet n Wild theres an Irish bar that shows the games no cover charge plus cheap beer, although u maybe lucky as ESPN plus some other channels have started showing some of the more tastier matches, so your villa tv maybe showing it

In the villa we stayed in there was a football channel I think it was called Fox Soccer or something like that. We had it in English and some other channel (I think it was the same one again) that always had football on in Spanish.
We went during the World Cup and I was surprised by just how easy it was to find out what was going on. I managed to watch an England game from the comfort of our villa. I did see the bar on the 27 which looked interesting, maybe we'll go in there one day but next year all the football will be over before we get to Florida.

If you are staying in a villa, check to see if they have ESPN & ESPN2. Currently the matches have been shown on those channels and you can watch it at home.
If it is only being shown on digital cable your villa owner would need to have Fox Soccer Channel but they primarily show the Premiership matches.
As for area options there are several pubs in the Kissimmee area (East 192) and also on International Drive. Cricketers is moving to Festival Bay so perhaps it would be a good option for shopping/footie time.
