Very excited to have just booked a two week trip in October 2007.
Our first week is at our timeshare and for the second week we've booked Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter.

I want to book disney dining while we're at Port Orleans, as this looks great value for a family.

But Disney say that I'd have to buy Ultimate tickets through them (which is fine) and that the tickets can't start until the first day we're at Port Orleans (which isn't fine, as obviously I want to have the tickets for the whole two week stay).

Wondered if anyone had any ideas how we can get disney dining plan for second week of our stay only??

Thanks

All you need to buy for your second week is a one day ticket. The dining plan goes on the length of your stay and not the length of your theme park ticket.

If you buy a one day base ticket with your resort booking then you can add dining plan, you don't have to use the ticket but save it for another trip. the dining plan is based on the number of nights in the resort not the number of days park entrance. you can then buy your ultimates elsewhere if you want to
Welcome to the Dibb by the way :)

If you book through the US site then you can book with only a 1 day ticket each and save it as it will not expire.

 Welcome to the Dibb!

Ultimate tickets start from the first day of use, Disney can't tell you when you can use them.
You can purchase the Dining Plan with any accommodation and ticket package not just the Ultimate tickets, so as Ann says, a one day ticket would do and you could keep it for another trip if you prefer to use the Ultimate tickets for both weeks.
I'd try either booking online or calling again as another CM may be more helpful. Maybe Val (Cinders Mum) can help, why not PM her.

We are in exactly the same position see this thread.

Unfortunately it is not true that you can book just a 1 day ticket to get the free dining, though that was true for the US free dining package with the UK offer, the minimum you can book is a 5 day premium pass which at £170 is only £10 cheaper than a 14 day ultimate ticket and £20 cheaper than a 21 day ultimate ticket. When you purchase the package from Disney via Disney UK you will only be allowed to get the tickets when you check in to the Disney resort where you are staying for the package. You can also not book via the US site as they are not offering free dining at the moment, I have done lots of research on this and posted on various sites for advice and there doesn't appear to be a way around this for us (we are staying at the Poly for the first 3 days before free dining starts and can't change the last few days as we will be on a Disney cruise), is there anyway you can do the weeks timeshare for the second week and do the onsite stay first? I have emailed Disney regarding this already and just got a standard reply back to confirm everything I have said above, I am going to try again and see if I get any further.

It is so frustrating isn't it??

Sorry, I have just re read your original post and you don't mention FREE dining. If you are not going during the Free Dining period then all of the above posts are correct and you can book via the US site and get just one day ticket with the package including dining (I believe).
Hopefully you will be able to sort it out now.

Or, could you stay at Disney the first week and stay in your timeshare the the 2nd week? Then you would have the tickets in hand and could continue to use them?
