what is a philly cheesesteak?

And has anybody had a kitchen sink just for 2 people - know we wouldn't finish it but just want to try it - or would we look daft?

Thanks

Usually Its a hot sandwhich or baguette with very thin rashers of steak, cheese and onion, sometimes with a sauce or dressing and a side of friesof course.

Ive had a really nice one in Dennys if I remember correctly, Delicious.

Who's been reading my trippies then? ;) Hope you are drooling.

The philly cheesesteak has loads of cheese, very thin cut steak slices, peppers and fried onions on a baguette, it was delicious.

The Kitchen Sink would be an impossible task for 2 people, honestly it's huge, and it melts pretty fast, but you'd have fun trying to finish it. Go for it!

The philly cheesesteak and Kitchen Sink are both on my 'must-have' list!
There are 6 of us so we should make quite a dent in the KS! Can't wait!:tounge:

Kitchen Sink for 2 - starve yourself all day and you may manage half of it lol!!!

Seriously though, there were 5 of us and after we had had our fill there was still enough left for another 2 or 3. Whilst we were there though, there was a couple of teenage girls sitting at the bar/counter and they had ordered it. They gave it a good try but didn't manage to finish it- probably a good job as one fella offered to pay for it if they could finish it.

This sounds YUMMY....however I would have to get them to 'hold' the onions....I have a sensitivity to onions:(

Where can you get this....when I return I will have to have this on my 'to eat list'...LOL

Nowhere beats Philly for a cheesesteak !

The cheese should be provolone to be authentic and it should be on a italian sub roll.

Cheesesteaks anywhere else in the US just doesn't get it right, I'm afraid !!

Another good Philly staple is the hoagie !! Yummy !!

One of the best Philly Cheesesteaks i've had was from a Street vendor called Mick in New York (corner of Ave of the Americas and W54) tracked the same guy down on two visits after that but the next time we went he'd gone.

Never had one the same since:( Must try on in Florida next time.

There is a place in Florida Mall on the corner of Food Court that specialises in Philly steak and it is about $7.00 for a full sandwich and drink and fries:)

I tried one there which was good but I had one at the same franchise in the Manhattan Mall in New York that was out of this world.
