View Full Version : Another DDP question
Sorry to be sooo thick!
We have tried to read up on this & I'm still confused- what with all these credits & things.
We are thinking of going next Sept/Oct to take advantage of the free DDP.
In the past we have had a breakfast at the hotel, a burger or snack for lunch in the park, and then had our last meal in the park/ hotel when everyone is eventually hungry & in between queueing for rides/parades etc.
We've never had a proper waiter/waitress sit down lunch/dinner (unless its been off site all together)
On the DDP do you HAVE to have a sit down meal??? If you don't is the DDP still worth it?
Please help - we are confused!!!!

I believe that you can exchange table service meals for counter service ones, but doubt that the DDP would be worth it without taking advantage of the more expensive sit down meals?

If you are getting it for free its still worth it :)
You can trade down - so you can swap a table credit - I think you get 1 counter + 2 snack.
Take the plunge and have a sit down meal :) You can use it for breakfasts as well if you prefer, and it includes the buffets.

Personally if I wasn't going to use free dining for any sit-down means i'd hold out for a room discount with Disney in the US. Since it's in an off-peak period there are likely to be some.

Hi LizzyBear - what do you mean re the room discount? (sorry not very quick on the uptake) If we don't use all the credits will Disney give us a refund? or will Virgin not money off?

To get room discounts you'd have to book DIY and do the hotel booking through Disney in the US. Every so often they release codes for discounts off rooms per night which can work out to be a better deal than free dining if people aren't planning on using most of the credits or want to eat offsite mostly. There are no refunds from Disney or Virgin for unused DDP credits.

Thanks alot for that.
We are going with DM & DF & don't think that they will let me book on a DIY basis.
DM won;t even let me book the package deal on the internet. We HAVE to go to the travel agents!!!
