Just wondering if anybody has bumbed into anybody famous while in Florida or any other holiday...well they earn lods of ££££ and are on TV or Silver Screen....

Funny cos we saw Kevin Webster in Universal .Also saw an Orlando basketball player in one of the shopping malls. What a nice guy, made my sons day,by letting us take a photo of him and my son together. That photo takes pride of place on his bedroom wall, his name was Dwight Howard for those of you that are Orlando Magic fans.

I once saw Michael Jackson when he was visiting Epcot "incognito". IT was his veiled woman stage, you know, when he liked wearing veils to be anonymous.
Thing was, though, cast members had been advised he was in the park that day so we knew!
I also bumped into Danny deVito coming out of the Rose & Crown (he's tiny) and a whole load of really famous Mexican actors which wouldn't mean much to this board but it was so exciting.
I also saw and talked to Michael Eisner once...

Over the years we have chatted to Danny De Vito & Michael J fox (in Disney MGM), Timmy Mallet and Richard & Judy (in MK), got shoved out of the way by Gloria Estafans bouncer and had a drink with Mike Baldwin (i dont know his real name) at Manchester Airport ............ not all on the same trip, I must add !!!
We want saw Sherie Hewson (Maureen from Corrie) in Manchester Airport, just after she had left Corrie. My mum & grandma stared at her that much, she came over to talk to us.
My mum (normally very sane) told "Maureen"that she was glad that she had left Reg Holdsworth and she didn;t like Reg very much!!!
"Mother - it's not real" I said as I crawled under the nearest seat!!!

Daniel Bedingfield in Orlando airport and on our flight home.
Jenny Faulkener (GMTV) on our flight back from Antigua, my teenage boys were fixated with her long legs as they sat opposite her, my husband didn't look!
Mark Bright (Footballer) in Gatwick Virgin Clubhouse
Richard Branson on a flight to St Lucia - he introduced himself and had his picture taken with whoever requested it onboard.
The chap from CHIPS (you got to be old enough to remember him - Erik Estrada) at the car hire desk in Orlando airport, looking pretty good and still very much as I remember him.

Literally bumped into Bruce Springsteen in Boston in 2003!
Got whacked on my head by Boris Becker at Heathrow with his tennis bag.
Sat behind Sarah Greene and Mike Smith on a Virgin light out of Boston.
My husband has been out for a meal with Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters and is still blown away by it!
We saw Jonathan Woss and his family at AK in August...but not at the same time. When we saw his wife & daughters, apparently he and his son were on Expedition Everest, but we caught sight of him later.

I went out and told the kids and nearly had a fit saying where's he gone!! Gutted I didn't get a pic though!!

What a great thread! It's nice to see that a lot of 'celebs' are quite down to earth and approachable.
I spoke to Paul Daniel's at Downtown Disney at Easter 2005, saw Bradley Walsh (Danny Baldwin from 'Corrie') at AK in 2003. I am also convinced I saw Eddie Murphy in MK the same year.
DH and DS were on a ride and missed him. To this day they think I was mistaken but I am sure it was him!

I've sat next to Maureen Lipman in the BA business lounge in Jersey and then on the flight back to London.
I've stood next to Andrew Lloyd Webber at Kings Cross train station.
I was stood next to Sherrie Murphy (Emmerdale, I'm a celebrity, footballers wife) the other week at Manchester Airport as she waited for her husband Harry Kewell.
I was on the same flight as Victoria Beckham once on the way back from Madrid - she was really rude.
I think the only famous person I've seen in Orlando is some woman from Casualty/Holby City (can't remember her name but she's always in OK magazine) Just remembered it was Tina Hobley!!!
I also met Stefan Booth (hollyoaks, the Bill, Dancing on Ice) and his new wife on honeymoon in Tanzania this year. We were staying at a very small exclusive resort and they were there at the same time as us - for a couple of nights we were the only 2 couples there so we got to know them quite well. They were a really sweet couple and very down to earth - it was funy as when I got home I saw that there wedding had been in OK magazine!!!

On our flight from Atlanta to Orlando Easter 2004 the 'nutter on the plane' came through from the front section and started telling jokes and talking to people. He was a very big black man who towered over the petit air hostess who was very politely trying to get him back to his seat for landing. We got off at Orlando and I walked beside him.. (taking a wide birth because after all he was the 'nutter on the plane' and had a lot of security staff with him... it wasn't until he passed that my brother and father in law asked what it was like to walk 2 foot away from the worlds greatest boxer Mohamed Ali!
When I grew up John Lesurimay (can't spell his name) lived across the road. (Dads Army). He was a total drunk but a realy nice guy and some of my 'friends' decided to play knock down ginger one day... Only thing is his wife answered the door and they said they were after his autograph. She said he was out but invited them in for some tea while they waited for him to come back which they did, but eventually had to leave as John must of been on a bender.
And last month I met my all time idol... My wife booked us into the Ritz for afternoon tea to celebrate my 40th. As I walked in who should come the other way but none other than Lady Thatcher. Had it of been anywhere other than the Ritz I would have asked for her photo , instead I settled with stepping to one side to allow her to pass while adding the occasion to the memory banks.
I remember many years ago going to the BBC with my mum to watch a TV show being recorded. We got in the lift and Des Linem got in along with a couple of other football celebs (it was a world cup year). When they got out and the lift door closed my mum said wasn't it great to share a lift with those important comedians, ( burried my head to die... probably the same as my brother in law when I asked what he was on about when I enquired why he was so excited that I had walked next to the Nutter on the plane!)
Chatted to singer Russell Watson at a wedding last year. Met his sister and dad a few times too.

Went to Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney a few years ago and passed Stone Cold Steve Austin & his wife on the stairs! (He wasnt as big as I thought he would be!) My sons were staring at him and he smiled and nodded at them.
I saw Dennis Hopper getting his shoes shined in the airport in Houston. I had to go up to him to tell him I loved him in "Blue Velvet". He stared down at me and said, "How 'bout a ride neighbour". I dropped my hot dog on my shoes. Quite memorable.
My husband saw Hugh Heffner (Playboy) coming off Tower of Terror a couple of years ago. He was surrounded by body guards apparently.
i seen john barnes in blizzard beach in 1994, a minor i know.

DW has been fortunate enough to photograph a lot of " famous " people in her time...from HM Queen Elizabeth down..or up..depending on your viewpoint!
Her favourite people. she photographed / interviewed ....i.e. nice, polite and not " up their own bums"...are:
David Jason, Ronnie Barker, Mel B ( Sporty Spice ), Lord Litchfield, Pierce Brosnan ( she still goes weak at the knees at the thought of him....ggrrr ) and Daniel Bedingfield.
The ones she loathed...i.e. arrogant and definitely full of themselves......
Peter Howett ( Joey in Bread...a total creep ), Charles Dance and Christopher Biggins. Biggins wins hands down as being the person she'd least like to ever meet again........an ego as big as his body with a talent the size of his fingernail. He`preened for ages discussing which was his " best side " for a photo. DW got as close as she'll ever get to giving someone a smack in the head....lol!!
She's photographed many more famous names...but feels most people are just down to earth...celebs or not....the list above are the prominent memories for various reasons!
Me...best I did was interview Bryan Ferry with a mate who worked for NME many years ago. We also had dinner with Mr. Ferry.....who has to be THE most boring person ever......amazing looking guy....with the personality of an avacado.

I walked past supernanny in october in Magic Kindgom!
and my ex served Ann Diamond at the Yorkshire county chip shop in epcot.
At home, I met Antony, Lee and Duncan from Blue ( I was a HUGE fan at the time). we met their stage crew for the Guilty tour at a club in town, befriended them, and got invited to a party back at the hotel with the boys from Blue. it was so exciting and i was star struck for weeks. They gave us free tickets to the show the following evening, and then after the show the next night we went to the hotel again for a few drinks with them.

Once saw Sir Richard Attenborough on the tube and did the usual - 'yes it is - no it isn't ' thing with my ex and as he got up to get off he said "yes it is" so I just said thank you. Saw Kevin Webster in The Trafford Centre with his wife/partner thought he looked a bit scruffy. Steve McDonald has a villa on the same resort as we do.
Once in my younger days whilst in a pub I saw that woman from Emmerdale who was married to Chris Tate and fell off a rock and died - can't remeber her name but she was very rude, thought that just because she was semi famous she did not have to queue for a drink.....

I've seen Walter Gray, Jr. and Meredith Birney both at Disney at different times! I also sat about three tables away from Dennis Fitzpatrick and Allan Dean both having dinner together at the California Grill when they were in Central Florida together on a film.

Met Jeffrey Archer when I was working at the Newcastle Theatre Royal whilst I was a student. Then he ended up here in Lincs. in prison not so long ago didn't he?! Also met Colin Baker (Dr Who) at Newcastle Theatre - and a dalek!
Saw Howard from Take That in Asda, North Manchester.
Roy Keane and Carrie and David Grant (of Fame academy) were all on our plane to Mauritius - not in economy with us though you understand :cool2:
We saw Dale Winton on a flight to Orlando 3 years ago, he was in UC and we were in PE. When DD mentioned to the crew that she'd recognised him he came back to see her and brought her some posh UC crisps!! She was made up!! He was lovely.
We also saw Billy Joel at MGM on our first trip in 1994, and I will be seeing him again in Orlando next Saturday, only this time I am paying for tickets!
Was on back lot tour behind Cuba Gooding Jr (show me the money!) a few years ago.
Non-Disney sighting: Summer in Florence. It was so hot that I'd given up wandering round and was sitting on a curb (looking like a street urchin) when David Blane + big burley minder came past. I must have on an "I can't believe its David Blane" face because he smiled at me. Yes people, a smile. Not often you see that from him.

We bumped into Paul "Gazza! Gascoigne in Sea World around the time he was playing in Italy i think.
I had my pic taken with him and while my wife was sorting out the camera he turned to me and said "So...you're in Florida then?"....there wasn't much i could say to that really!
He was really nice though and we bumped into lots of other English people that day that also had their pic taken with him and no-one had a bad word to say about him.
We saw him a few more times in the park after that and every time he made a point of saying hello again.
His (then) wife Cheryl was with him and the kids and i have to say she was absolutely stunning. I'd never thought she looked that great in photo's but in real life she looked amazing.
We also saw Avid Merrion (can't remember his real name) from Bo Selecta in LA airport. He even managed to make the US passport checker laugh which is no mean feat!
Mickey Mouse reported that he had seen me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the way home via Manchester airport my DD spotted Christopher Eccleston waiting to go through to departures last Saturday. I loved My Friends In The North and other things he has done but Dr Who just flew over the top of my head. Have to say never thought he was film star handsome but when you see him, he definately has something. I've also met Billy Connoly ( nice man) and had dinner at the same restaurant as Nigel Havers and the guy who played Trigger. He was ok but I'm amazed we all fitted into the restaurant with NH's head.

we bumped into is it tracy from birds of a feather, in a park, cant remember her real name, she was filming for a brekkie show, i got it on film
Speaking of David Blaine - I saw him when he was encased in ice in Time Square, NY. Funnily enough, he didn't smile!
Was on the same Eurostar train as Neil 'Dr' Fox on the way back from DLP, he was with his family and two young kids at the time. The carriage was empty, except for us and we were a opposite ends of the compartment, his kids were up our end of the train through the whole journey nattering away to us but it was only when he said sorry as we got off at Ashford did we realise who he was. He came across as a typical parent who'd had enough of walking around DLP and just wanted to be in his armchair at home.
Was in the same restaurant as Sir Richard Attenborough a few years ago at Drusillas Zoo in Sussex. We learnt, by earwigging his table, that we was having a meeting about a new film he was going to be directing. It was called Grey Owl and starred Timothy Dalton, wasn't huge film though.
I was at a friends stag weekend with Nigel Harman, about 18 months ago, he was really big in Eastenders at the time. He's a really nice guy and I felt sorry for him as we walked around and he just wanted to have fun with some mates but he was constantly being pestered. Made me realise that fame has a big downside.
Finally, met HRH in her back garden a few years ago!

We also saw Gordon Banks at one of the crazy golf places on I Drive then another night went to the same place and saw the chap who plays Andy Sugden in Emmerdale. Had Jill Dando as a stewardess on our flight back in 1996 for the Fasten your Seatbelts programme.

She did great and the only problems she had was with duty free as she overcharged DH and my sister, she was really lovely though and spent ages talking to DH when she took him and DS into the cockpit.
... Zack (Steve Halliwell) was a client of ours a good many years ago, when he lived in Bury, lancs, and at the time he was in some drama series on C4. Nice bloke, loads of kids I seem to remember.
He lives about 200 yds from me now! I dont understand why so many of the cast of Emmerdale seem to live or have lived here. Mark Charnock lived here for years but is now back in Harrogate and Steve McGann who used to be in the series lives next door to my friend. As for meeting famous people in Florida, that hasnt happened yet.

I've really enjoyed reading this thread, I've never seen anyone famous in Florida or Vegas and I really do look hard. On one of our return trips from Vegas heard loads of people saying they had seen Sandra Bullock filming Miss congeniality 2 - not us though.
Best I've done is see Ventris from Heartbeat at Gatwick airport.
I've seen loads of rugby players as I'm a bit of a groupie  my favourite being Tana Umaga (ex All Black captain) he was in a Chinese restaurant in Christchurch having just whipped our butts in the first Lions test 2005!! :(
Back to Vegas in 6 weeks I'll be looking extra hard!!

Not seen anyone famous in Florida, but saw Timothy Dalton (AKA James Bond) about 9 years ago in London (we were watching Riverdance at the time and in the interval I spotted him), saw him again at the end of the show and asked for his autograph which he happily did (he has mesmerising eyes).
