Can someone please tell me what exactly the Osbourne Lights are?
Pictures and links would be appreciated. I'm hoping to go Christmas 2008 (originally 2009 but can't wait that long) so am making notes of all the different Christmas things that should be done/seen.

I can't post pictures on there, but they're definitely a must-see. Lights, lights and more lights - obviously it's better to go when it's dark! ;) Well worth a visit.

The story behind them

Wow what an amazing story behind the lights. As I was reading the history the image of the Griswolds house in the 'Christmas Vacation' film kept popping into my mind. Would love to go and see these lights one year.

I stupidly thought it had something to do with the other Osbourne Family (always thought I couldn't see the Prince of Darkness being fussed about Christmas Lights, thought Halloween would be more Ozzie's thing)

Think I must be a bit slow today. Reading this my mind was saying it doesn't snow in Florida but was heart was saying how amazing it must look.

Doh, it's Disney, of course it must snow at Christmas.

These are one of my fav things at Disney, the lights start at the top of the buildings and finish on the floor and the snow is great, it makes you all warm and tingly inside (well it does for me anyway) thats why we always go at this time of year.

We used to love the Osborne lights but last time we were at MGM they had changed it all because they had got rid of all the 'houses' - I think to make way for Lights, Camera, Action attraction - and it just wasn't the same. We didn't like the new set up at all. :(

We always have a wander. Might sound strange but if you get chance have a walk round them when fantasmic is showing, very quiet......

Thank you everyone. I'm much more enlightened to what they are and realise they're nothing to do with Ozzy, Sharon & co.

Another thing for my Christmas Trip "to do" List ;)

The only time I've been was in Nov 2000, and it was FAB, just like walking through a Clark Griswold extravaganza.

Liamaxina, when do you last go ?

I'm looking forward to taking my Fiance for her first trip this week and the OL's start just before we come home, so must fit it in. She'll love it I'm sure.

Agreed, in fact I would say for me this was the highlight of the holiday. Shame it will be 2009-2010 until I get Xmas off again!
