Planning our second visit to WDW for last two weeks in Aug 07. We would like to make the most of EMH to avoid worst crowds. We have previously used the morning early entry and found it great (but troublesome getting our youngest daughter out of bed so early! ) but have never used the late entry (don't think it was in operation in Dec 04 ?). I know there will be far fewer folks in the park during these extra 3 hours but is this outweighed by the fact that less of the attractions are open?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve

We have done both early and late magic hours, and find them both good.

What you find in the morning ones, is that as the hour passes the park gradually gets busier. The reverse happens on the late magic hours, the park is busy at first but gets quieter the later it gets.

At the end of August you really should find the queues too bad as the schools go back in America in early August

Paul,

Thanks for the reply. (Hope you missed the word NOT from the last sentence!). Glad to hear that the crowds may not be too big as we were a little concerned about visiting in summer months.

Cheers,
Steve

The WDW calendar gives you the EMH for each park, but they are subject to change so check again nearer the time.
We have always found the evening EMH better than the mornings. You get 3 hours extra in the evenings, only one in the mornings. There are more attractions open in the evenings. The crowds tend to thin out after the first hour or so of the evening EMH. The parks are really pretty after dark.
We returned home on August 19th this year and found crowd levels not bad at all, noticeably less the second week as local schools returned.

As loadsapixiedust said the evening EMH are better especially after the first hour. Walk on most rides.

I used them again this July and would say that we found mornings the most beneficial in the Disney Studios.

It was a total nightmare on the evening EMHs as its only a relatively small park and they have only a a couple of things on for these hours, RRC TOT Muppets 3D and star tours, i cant remember if GMR was open or not.

In saying that though we found MGM more busy than normal anyway this year for some reason. Fantasmic had a 2nd showing at 10pm and the park closed at 10 but people with EMHs wristbands could still get into this too. Queues for RR and TOT were still around 50 mins long to begin with during the late hours but bear in mine we were there middle of July when crowds are larger.

MK & Epcot were fine at both times and we tended to do nightime EMHs at these parks.

Animal Kingdom we found best in the morning. Everest was still relatively new when we were there and the queues at the start of EMHs were about an hour long as everyone headed that way first. We spoke to a CM who told us to head back to Everest about 2 hours into it and it would be quieter, so we headed and done Dinosaur etc first. Still had 30 min wait by time we got back to Everest. First thing in the morning though we had 5 mins total to wait for it.

Like i said we were there in a very busy month so hopefully when you go August next year it wont be as bad , plus Everest etc will all have been open for over a year and might not just be as busy as those first couple of months.
