My other half is a real film lover and so I was thinking of taking her to the cinema one evening when we are over in Orlando. I know there is a complex at DTD but I was wondering what it is like? Expensive? Comfy? (particularly important for me that it is comfy as I have a tendency to  and rarely see the end of any film! :pgig: )

The legroom at Citywalk Universal cinema is unbelieveable, the seats are like sitting at home!!!! Just don't spill your popcorn!!!!!

For a change from the ordinary try going to Fort Wilderness campfire movie
Not such comfy seats but a free Disney movie every night complete with marshmellow toasting and a singalong

we did dtd twice the seats were really comfy and when we went to watch garfield 2 we were the only people in the room!!!
Not done the Universal one, but can vouch for the AMC at Downtown Disney. I saw the last Star Wars movie there in digital, and it was amazing. They also crank the sound up a bit more than you get over here - wow! Seats are comfortable and tiered, with a great aisle that runs across the whole auditorium about 1/3 of the way back (some UK cinemas are following that pattern now too). The perfect location is in the middle of the first row of seats in that rear section so there is no one directly in front of you.

I agree with the comfy seats at the AMC in DTD and because they are tiered and high backed you can't see the head of the person in front of you. We also went to the cinema at Festival Bay (I-Drive) it was nice but not as comfy as AMC

Anyone tried the cinema at Pointe Orlando?
I went to the one at pointe orlando because it was my birthday and the opening day for "fun with dick and jane" I dont remember it being any different to the ones at home.

AMC at DTD is the BEST cinema we have ever been to!! We've done both Universal cineplex and AMC - AMC is s winner by a nose! We probably like AMC just because of the "Disney" edge!! LOL
Which ever one you choose you will not be dissapointed!!

As an alternative to the mega cinemas at Disney and Universal there is a very nice smaller cinema at Celebration. Lovely surroundings too, with the lake and restaurants around it.

Have been to the one at Universal and Festival Bay. Prefer Festival Bay (probably just because its newer) but both were empty and went to see lemony snickets when its first came out and we were the only ones in the theatre.

we went to the cinema at festival bay and thought it was excellent we paid in dollars to get in what we would normaly pay in pounds,so we thought that was cheap.we had huge buckets of popcorn, coke, also had nachos and hot dogs between us.also the seats reclined.unfortunately i fell asleep 10 mins into the film

Hi,the first cinema we went to which was in 2004 was the one at Pointe Orlando,it was really a good experience, really comfy seating i would definatly recommend.
Last year we went to the one at Downtown Disney which was also good but in my opinion not as good as the one at The Pointe.

hey can anyone tell me where the cinema is at dtd or give me a link to the website etc?
thanks
Try www.amctheaters.com (http://www.amctheaters.com). The cinema is right in the middle, between Planet Hollywood and the Virgin Megastore.
Andre
for something completely different why not try the silver moon drive in cinema at lakeland
From the interstate:
Take I-4 to the County Line Road exit (at the Hillsborough/Polk County line). Go south on County Line Road to U.S. 92 W. Turn left (east) and look for the flashing neon sign 3.5 miles ahead on the right.
