Among the region's smaller attractions, the big news in 2003 is the planned opening of Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner and Show, off Interstate 4 at 8251 Vineland Ave., on May 23.

"That's now a firm date," said John Stine, director of sales and marketing. The ticket price also has been finalized -- $43.99 plus tax for adults and $28.99 plus tax for children 3 to 11.

The attraction will have a 1,200-seat arena for the music- and action-oriented show featuring horses and other performing animals. It also will have a "carriage room" where guests will gather before being seated in the arena.

While enjoying a soft drink or popcorn, Stine said, guests in the carriage room will be entertained by a 25- to 30-minute "show" featuring Greg Anderson, "Australia's Electric Cowboy," riding his black stallion, Starstruck.

Anderson will sing and perform rope tricks, coaxing Starstruck up the stairs of the two-level carriage room.
