It could go either way. You know what the British weather is like!! We have been camping in April, one year glorious weather and another year we have had gales and snow!:omg: Go camping if there are 11 of you, you will have lots of fun:grin:

We went camping last easter and the only problem we has was that it got very cold at night.

Other than that great craic and as you say you wont get anything that cheap any other way.

We've never camped in April before, but I know people who have camped in February.

This is Britiain! You need to be prepared for any type of weather.

You'll have a ball whatever the weather. We've camped in August and its rained all the time & been really cold in the evenings. Just go & have fun.

Remember to take your wellies tho :d

i usually wont go until about july in this country.
we went a couple of years ago in april and it was cold even with a heater in trailer tent it was so cold at night.. kids didnt seem to mind as they were still running around all day. it was different to wake up and see the frost on the ground but i personnaly would not go that early again .

Disadvantages: It will be very cold at night, gets dark relatively early and you will wake with a *lot* of condensation (hence even if you have a quality tent you will get wet so make sure everything is wrapped/covered at night). Any sleeping plastic/nylon (the outside of some sleeping bags and blow up matresses) will get damp overnight with condenstaion.

Advantages : Cheap, quiet, can stay warm with a decent sleeping bag, can cover things to keep dry and if the weather is OK in the day you can 'air' the tent by pulling the side guys out for a while and letting the air blow through. Dry your sleeping bags by airing on the back of the car if it is dry otherwise condensation makes them damp for second night.

We have camped at Easter before but stopped when we had a few miserable trips. Now we have a Bongo and so could go all year round but still tend to stick to six mid-year months.

For the cost I would say go for it. You can always come home after one night if you get miserable and you will still have had great value for money.
