I booked through the Disney website when the free DDP offer was on. I just checked on the website again and the price is reduced by £600!:omg: Could this be right? I know I should not have checked, and I know prices fluctuate, but that is almost the cost of the DDP:(

yep I looked at my holiday and the price has gone down significantly.Also the price of the ultimate ticket has gone down. I know the holiday will have to stay the same but i do think it is a cheek to charge more for the tickets when they are not purchased yet. Should i ring them?

I was also wondering whether to contact them. I guess there is no harm in it. I know that holiday prices fluctuate, but I must admit I did not think they would to this extent direct with Disney.:( :blush: I'll be on the phone in the morning. I also feel bad as I have booked this for the family and they have trusted me to get them the best deal and now I feel I have lost them money.:cry:

I know you are upset the price has changed, but I don't see how you have lost your family money ...... the price you have seen does not include the DDP, your price does (okay it was offered as free dining, but you have the plan included in your price)
So please do not think you have cost them money, there is no free DDP just now, so anyone taking up this new price will need to pay cash for their DDP .....
Call them in the morning, and see what they say to you, but do not feel bad about the family, you have not cost them a penny from what I am reading.

I know that Disney UK will honour any new deals etc that come out after you have booked and apply them to your booking, but it will depend if the price differance is due to any promotion.
Still worth a call to find out.
ps. Not sure if this is the same if you have booked with Disney US

Thanks Val, I guess it was just that knee jerk reaction of seeing the lower price. I guess with holidays its the chance you take.

I know, and I totally understand it is the pressure of the family's welfare on your shoulders as well.
That's why I had to reply to your post, I felt so much for you thinking you had let them down when in fact you haven't at all..... so please don't get upset.

Val, can I ask for your professional advice.... if I were to request an upgrade, would I be charged the £100, which is the difference between what I have paid already and the website cost of a Moderate at this time? Not sure how it works, or would I be charged the difference between a Value and a Moderate? Hope this make sense and if I am right then it would lessen the blow.

Normally you would be charged the difference between the contract price you currently have and the new price, this is down to the supplier though, as I have had a couple of times when some have been different.
Normally though the supplier is happy because the value of the booking has increased.

I contacted Disney this morning, after rechecking the price, the lady said that the internet prices are wrong. She was unable to give me the internet price as she would have to report it as being wrong to her supervisors. I said I would contact them again. By the way, the lady I spoke to had no 'Disney Magic' what so ever, very dour in her manner. I hope I get someone else next time. lol
I've just checked ours for September as we have the free DDP and it is £116 cheaper but I don't mind that as I know we couldn't eat for 2 weeks for that much.

I think this may be due to the weak dollar against the pound, we have had experience of this in the past and prices do fluctuate with the exchange rate.

I never usually re-check any prices but have now as a matter of interest. Our total holiday price has increased by £7 even though the hotel price has decreased considerably. However, thanks to Val we also have free Dining so we have a great price.

I keep checking mine on Virgin but it doesn't seem to have changed much. Although its hard to judge as Virgin don't seem to offer the Contemporary anymore - Val do you know why this is?
Just checked mine and its still the same price! Thank goodness! Im really not in a position to be paying more than needs be.

I am getting contemporary coming up with VHols, it may be that their allocation of rooms for your dates has been filled???
I am certainly still getting contracts through for there with them

The disney site is still showing the lower prices, however Disney are still stating that the online prices are wrong. Oh, well at least I don't feel down £600 now, just a online error. But I will be keeping an eye on this.
