Ritz camera is a popular camera store locally and is found in the malls and also in stand alone buildings of their own. I will say that they are high in price but they do have the policy of matching the price. If you know that Best Buy and Circuit City (our comparable to Dixons or PC World) have the camera for a lesser price (locally and in stock) they will call to verify and will match the price.
Best Buy and Circuit City can be a bit daunting to deal with and Ritz is soley a camera shop and they know their stuff. Worth going to them and getting the service deserved.
I have seen many shops elling digital cameras and as an avid fan I check prices etc regulary. I have to say that these days it is far cheaper to buy on the internet in the UK. I find distinct advantages to this - you will get chance to familiarise yourself with your camera before you travel and you will know that all the electrical "bits" work in the UK. Just my opinion but I would take this option every time!
I work for amazon.co.uk and am in charge of their cameras, camcorders etc. Our Canon ixus broke whilst on holiday so we had to go to Circuit City to buy a new one. It cost me £20 more there than it would have if I'd bought from amazon.co.uk at home (I get no discount on electrical goods). So beware that it is not necessarily cheaper. Check out prices here and have a look at the US websites. There is not a huge difference

Ritz cameras is in Florida Mall, not a vast selection but very helpfull and can get what you want in very quick, i always go in there every visit as can get some good deals, they are very simular price to Jessups and often have the latest Jessups magazine under the counter so if you tell them you can get it cheeper back at Jessups they will get the mag out and know if its a porky as one Brit tried it and went out quite sheepish from the shop.

Always always ask about price matching. Typically all stores have a price matching program of some sort. I know that Circuit City (as I've bought several tvs from them) has a we'll match + program. They match the price plus give you a % off because of showing them someone was selling it for less.
I always check the net before buying any electrical item. I'll print the page out and take it with me. I work in sales and know that the advertised price is never the bottom line price. Never be afraid to ask. The worst that you can be told is No and you can decide on if you take your business somewhere else or not.
Having said the above, my mother-in-law was just here for Christmas and she came with the intention of buying a camera. She certainly paid less than what she'd been quoted in London and confimed that she would have warranty internationally. She didn't have the desire to use the camera while on holiday at the time and was happy to use it once she got back. She bought it because of the course she had been taken and the instructor using that camera. Just depends on what you are looking for and how you prepare to buy it.
