:confused2 Might seem a silly question but ..... we purchased 14D ultimate ticket last Sept and we will do the same again next Hol as found them excellent, especially as we did a lot of park hopping in the 2nd week. The difference this time is that we are driving and not using provided transportation to the parks, so not sure about whether parking prices apply??? and can we park hop (with a car or do we still have to use the Disney Busses).

You have to pay to park - roughly about $10. You can park hop the same, but you only need to pay for parking once per day. Welcome to the Dibb, btw!

You still need to pay parking. You can park hop by car though as you only pay parking once per day - keep your ticket and show it when you drive into the next car park they will wave you through.

What if you wanted to hop between disney & universal parks on the same day - do you pay twice for parking then??

If you don't want to drive in & pay at a park is it easy to park outside somewhere cheaper (or free!!) and then use the disney transportation system to get around inside??

You'd have to pay twice as Disney and Universal are totally separate.

I see you are staying in a villa, off site

-but just wanted to add that for anyone staying on site (ie Disney hotel) parking is free at the Disney parks.

Hi Sparklin, we are doing the same as you and have decided to buy 1 Annual Pass to gain the free parking, plus discounts on meals etc. You might find this to be a better option.

Hi there - this sounds like a great idea, how do you get hold of the annual passes and where are the best places to buy them!!!

What other sort of benifits do you get by having the AP? I've just worked out that an AP is £290est....So if you purchase a 14 day Disney Pass at £159, plus 12 Days parking of £72est TOTAL of £231...giving you a difference of £60 out of pocket. What other benifits would be worth £60?

!0% of lots of resturants and some shops. We are also going for a couple of days at the Poly so hope to get some knocked off their as well (AP Discount). Plus we like playing the Mini-golfs and thats 50% off (for 6 of us so adds up), and of course it gives you a great reason to go back within 12 months......

Thanks Mike.....though maybe you can help...

We don't travel until Sept, but if I purchased an PAP before I go lets say 186 days in advance. (ADR's) As we also want to try and do the Keys to the Kingdom tour maybe Segway, and quite a few ADR's and maybe one or two nights in a Disney hotel (we are staying in a Villa) and I want to book all of these too, to get any discounts and when will the PAP be valid from and until and whill we be able to get the discounts.....

I also forgot wanting the discount on the MNSSHP... :o) How do we work all this out to get the discount and the passes so they are valid as close to our travel date as possible...allowing me to go back the year after ;)

I asked the same question here the other day regarding booking Disney hotels and was told that as long as the pass was activated before I checked in it would be fine. I presume thats the same for everything else. You can definately book ADR's (booked mine last week) as you don't need the AP for that, just for Park entry.

All the above is true...but just to add that if you also get a DDE card for $60 with your AP the discounts go up to 20% plus you get free valet parking at the resort hotels then aswell as the carparks.

You only need one AP/DDE per party tp get discounts/parking. :wavey:

Also I read this somewhere regarding the AP Purchase -

Quote -
I hear there is a new policy on purchasing Annual Passes. What is it?

On October 2, 2000 Disney changed their policy on Annual Passes. Any AP purchased at WDW now receives an activated pass, not a voucher. (NOTE: vouchers may be purchased by request at any of the Guest Relations locations at WDW.) This pass will expire one year from the date of purchase, not the previous one year from first use. The date of expiration is clearly printed with the words "Expires on" on the AP itself.

PLEASE HELP - AM NOW CONFUSED

I'be bought an Annual Pass direct from Disney (by phone) and have an unactivated voucher. I bought one 2 years ago as well and it wasn't activated until I went to Downtown Disney and activated it on the first day. You should be fine to buy now. If you're not sure just check with them when you purchase it.

So how do I then get the extra discoutns to make it worth while purchasing?

Presumably you can book these in advance as long as you can show an activated pass when you arrive ?
