Hi all,

After much deliberation, armtwisting and number-crunching, we have booked up again for July 2007. After searching through villa upon villa for the last week, we have all decided upon a lovely villa on Clearcreek, Clermont.

I was looking for information you might have about this area - i.e., shops, supermarkets, restaurants on the highway 27 nearby? I think the area is quite near the new(ish) Walmart but apart from that, I haven't really ventured northbound on the 27.

Any info would be much appreciated!

Hi, we always stay in this area as we love it there. The first phase is Woodrige, the second phase is Clear Creek and the third phase is Silver Creek. There are plenty of lakes and conservation areas there and a pine forest. At the entrance to the estate is a Winn-Dixie and there is also a pizza take-away (lovely pizzas), bank, post office, hairdressers, dentist and dry cleaners. Almost directly opposite to the entrance to the estate there is a family restaurant called Randy`s where the locals go. They do a really nice roast beef dinner which has proper mashed potato, proper veg and proper gravy!! About two minutes down the road is Walmart and Publix is just down a bit further when you turn off onto the 192. We don`t tend to eat on the 192 as the restaurants that we like are on I-Drive and at Lake Buena Vista. Bahama Breeze is our favourite. :-)

The new walmart there is really nice, much quieter than the ones on 192 and sands lake rd, and you don't have to wait an hour to get through the checkout!! :nonono: :nonono:

Do you know the sherbeth rd shortcut from the 192 into disney - it will save you loads of time.

If you travel a bit further south past the 192 exit towards I4 there is a nice publix and Crackerbarrel, Bob Evans, Burgerking etc

If you venture further north on the 27 you will come accross lakeridge winery where they make there own wine from the land behind them.
You can go for a tour of the wine making process and have a tasting session.
warning. the wine is not to everyones tast but you do see locals taking away boxes of the stuff...

There is also a Chilli's at Champion's Gate and 3 restaurants inside the Omni Rosen at Champions Gate. Nice for a special occasion. I am sure that the person you are booking your villa from will give you lots of information.

I stayed at Clear Creek in April 2005. I personally I thought the villas were a little dated and the location was too far out for me but that's just my opinion.

On the plus side the 24 hour Walmart is literally a 2 minute drive and there are some restaurants on the 27 although can't quite remember which ones they are. For more choice head back to the 192.

Thanks for the replies guys, your info will come in very handy! We're delighted that we're right beside the new Walmart...we have a tendency to spend many an hour in there (usually with me trying to buy shoes!!) so the fact its only a 2 min drive is fantastic (or a nightmare for my husband!:pgig: ).

We always love trying out new restaurants when we're in Florida so will love venturing round the area and seeing what we can find! We do know about the Sherberth Rd exit, used it loads last yr...very handy indeed!

Cant wait to go now, the countdown is officially on! YIPPEE!

Many thanks

The villas we`ve stayed in at Clear Creek have never seemed dated to us and the third phase Silver Creek is very new. I guess it all depends on the villa you stay in!!

We're flying with TCD, previous years we have flown with Airtours/MyTravel and American Airlines (via Chicago). They seemed the cheapest from what we could see for direct flights from Glasgow on a Fly Drive option.
