Yes, we did one in September last year, 3 day Disney Wonder. It was fantastic.
Highlights were:
Meal at Palo (fine food and really excellent)
Childrens Club for Luke (he never came out of it apart from bed time and Castaway Cay!)
Castaway Cay (Luke and DH went on Stingray Encounter) the BBQ was the best we ever tasted especially the Mahi Mahi Sandwich.
And as for the ship it is beautiful.
and finally my DH packing his clothes in the suitcase and having to leave the ship in his shorty PJ's!!!!!
No Lowlights, apart from having to get up at 6.00 am on the last day for immigration but that is a small downside compared with the rest of the trip.
We have booked for October 2007 so thats how good it is.
Have a great time. You should be able to update your booking online so make sure you book for the Childrens Club if needed, you just need to pick up your pager and set a password at the Terminal and book for Palo, the tables go quickly.

Been looking at cruise web site & it looks very booked up...so glad I did ours early, was thinking of leaving booking till last minute!!
Anyone who's been, do we really need to book 'Excursions' for Nassau & disney island or can we just decide what to do when we get there??
Thanks

We did not bother with any excursions on our 4 night Wonder trip - they are quite expensive, and many of them (such as visiting Atlantis) you could do yourself.
However, if money is no object..then why not:d: You can book when you are on board or if you want to guarentee a place, after you have made your final payment by logging onto your reservation on the DCL site (even if you have book through a TA).
In Nassau we went to the Pirate Museum (with shop & pub attached) which is not an organised tour....just a short walk (5-10mins) from the ship ..turn right and it is the street behind the the main street. Its very good and entry is very reasonable - and just long enough, but not too long, to hold the attention of young kids- especially budding pirates. :D
PS lucky you did not leave it till the last minute, because you would have paid more for your cruise (prices rise from their release date)

Feel we've spent enough already really so prob just do our own thing-Pirate museum sounds good!!
Have already been on line & booked a place in Flounders nursery for our toddler, for my Bday night so we can hopefully have an 'Adult' meal, if our 12 yr old will let us!!
My dh & big son will prob go snorkeling too whilst I play with the little one on the beach at Castaway Cay!

Sounds good to me :thumbs-up
A few tips for the beach at CC ;
...don't settle on the first bit of family beach ..keep walking along the path, as long as you don't mind a 4-5 min walk from the bar/ toilets/ food area its no further than that I promise..there is a second bit of family beach opposite the last set of T shirt shops ..its much less crowded (since most people don't seem to like the walk I guess). You also get good views of the ship and you won't be sunbed to sunbed with everyone else. And you can take a tray with your food on, back to this area, to enjoy away from the crowded bar-b-que area...its much more civilised :tounge:
...the ice cream (there is free dispenser in the food area) / food / drinks stations all pack up about 2.30pm ..so don't forget to get your last orders in before this time...you don't have to be back on board till about 4pm.
..you can't get tea or coffee on CC so have your morning fix on the boat, before you set out.

Just a Question for those who have taken a Disney Cruise. When we go back next year, it will be our fifth trip and I suggested a Disney Cruise. The common consensus was that this would mean that we wouldn't have enough time to pack everything in as it was. So, the Q is : do you Disney cruisers stick to Disney alone or do you go to US, IOA, SW etc and, if you do, how can you fit it all in?

jdybnsn-thanks for those great tips-will definately walk a bit further away!!
As far as fitting it all in, we are lucky to have been quite a few times now so more able to choose our favourite parks.....We arrive Fri 16th Feb,will do MK 17th & then dh and son are off to Daytona on 18th for the Indie 500, whilst I stay at the resort with our lo!!(Peace??)
We then have 3 days b4 the cruise which will prob be US & IOA and then we will get our big Disney 'fix' cruising.....we get back on 25th so that will prob be a lazy day(or shopping!)...Leaving us 6 days left to do whatever we decide. Dh fancies DCove but we will decide when there & if any tickets left may do that...still leaves us with 5 days..........!!!

Just a personal thing, as fellow repeat trippers ...... each visit we try not to do everything each trip, but select certain parks or activities, which we will probably then give a miss next time...that way we find that we don't end up with 'over exposure' to each park...and there are usually quite a few changes in the meantime for the 'missed' park to become fresh again. Of course with young kids there is one park we can't miss - MK !!! And EPCOT is so vast we are still exploring !
So far our itineries have run like this;
1st trip (1 week) MKx2, MGM, EPCOT & Sea World, Shopping
2nd trip (10 days) IOA, US, MGM, MK, EPCOT, AK, Titanic Exhibition, Wonderworks, 2x Dinner Shows
3rd trip (14 days ..can you see a pattern emerging !) MK, AK, EPCOT, BB, KSC, Shopping, Crazy Golf + 4 night Disney Cruise
plans for next trip..
IOA, US, DC, Sea World, TL, Mount Dora, MK + 7 night DisneyCruise

Jules - Disney, as far as I know, are the only cruise line to do this. Compare this with everyone having to clear immigration like at the airports. Queue lines snaking round the ship to disembark and not getting off until about 11.00am. This is so frustrating. At least with Disney you can disembark from about 9.00am and be on your way.

Sally - Nassau was a bit of a disappointment for us, but plenty of spaces on the few excursions they offer. We did the tour of the Island, but now wish we hadn't bothered. I heard great reports about the Atlantis tour though - so wish we had done this.
As for Castaway, the tours can get booked up pretty early and if you have paid your balance you can pre-reserve you excursions 90 days in advance. You can cancel or change your mind within 24hrs of the tour if I remember correctly. If you fancy something different - try the eco-tour on Jet Ski's. It was fantastic.

Last year, we only had one day to visit the parks before we got onto the boat, and although we had some time at the other end our our trip, we new that we would not have time to do all the parks.
We decided that there were a few rides in each park that we wanted to do, so planned a three park dash attack. We started off at 9.00am in Animal Kingdom and Everest, the took the bus to MK and did various rides there, then caught the monorail (sat up front with the driver!) to Epcot and did a few rides there. The caught the bus back to Port Orleans to collect our car to do a bit of last minute shopping in the afternoon/evening.
It was exhausing, but fun. :pgig:
