We are THINKING of taking DD to DLP for her 7th birthday in March. We cant commit coz DH is mega busy with work, but whilst tinkering with the Eurostar website (I always get my DLP breaks from here - vvvvv cheap!) I found this:
2 Adults, 2 kids.
Depart Ashford 9:29 Tues 13th March Arrive Lille 11:29 TGV to DLP Arrive 13:55
3 Nights Disneyland Hotel with breakfast and park tickets included
Depart DLP 18:30 Fri 16th March Arrive Lille 20:00 Eurostar to Ashford 9pm.
All for......£938. That has to be wrong doesnt it? It sounds far too cheap!

It's mid week and mid winter so I would think that's about right. Bet if you look at the weekends surrounding or the half term it will be close to double.

Sounds good to me too! When we went before we went straight into DLP - no TGV involved, has this changed now? I just checked out a price to stay at the Santa Fe and it quoted me a decent price but included the TGV thing?

We have used the TGV before. You get on the Eurostar as normal but change in Lille to connect to DLP. The direct Eurostar train still runs but it gets booked up quickly - it also runs about an hour later, so even with the connection, you still arrive about the same time!
Trying to persuade Dh that he needs a break but he says he is too busy to go...grrrrrrrrrrr.

I have just booked to go for 3 nights 1st-4th July with flights from Manchester with Air France and 3 nights b&b at the Dream Castle for £163 each for 2 adults sharing. Seemed like a good offer with Expedia.

I'm going with my mum and son on March 12th for 3 days, 2 nights on Eurostar to Hotel Cheyenne, park tickets included - all for £415. Thought that was a good deal, and cheaper than the coach!

But you have to remember that on top of that you need park tickets. When we go to Florida we do all the parks so you are looking at another grand for that. Then there is money for food for 2 weeks as well as spending money for shopping etc.
A typical Florida holiday all in costs us around, £5000.
This DLP trip all in will cost us less than £1000.
We enjoy this little Disney fix while we are waiting for our WDW trip in September.
It also means we have 5 days away from West Hams dire results.;)
I must admit though, we would never pay nearly a £1000 for 2 nights. We would spend £600 max on a 4 night stay. We have done this the past 2 years around this time of year.

I agree. I don't know where people are getting their prices when they say Florida isn't much more than DLP! (comparing the Disneyland Hotel to a budget Orlando hotel isn't really fair..) Me and my sister are planning a 2/3 night trip to DLP for her 18th birthday this year and out of curiosity I checked how much a week in a Disney value resort with tickets and flights would cost and it came to over a grand more (approx £2000 when factoring in spends) which is a lot IMO and this was for a February departure outside of the school hols. DLP will probably cost us about £400 for the hotel, flights and tickets and spends maybe £300 between us (I took £200 last year and bought loads of pins/other souvenirs and a few sitdown meals and still brought some money back, bf took £100 and bought less but still had money leftover) so that's £800 all in. Soo we'll be choosing DLP! ;) Sure I probably could have found a cheaper Orlando hotel if i'd looked at offsite places but transport-wise that's not really an option with my sister for reasons I don't really want to discuss on here.
ETA (so i'm not veering this thread totally off-topic!) That's a great price =] There are some good deals to be had for DLP at the moment.

They have been advertising that kids go free until the end of Marchso maybe thats why its cheaper than usual. If I was you I would just book it up anyway then DH will have to go!! :d:

The other thing with Florida is you can't get there and back in a day. If you only have a certain amount of holiday then a break to DLP (or anywhere) isn't comparable because you can squeeze a short break into yur life you can't squeeze in two weeks.
