View Full Version : Which Disney Deluxe hotel ???????
Morning all:wave:
Apoligies as I am sure this has been asked before but!!!!!
We have booked for 20th Dec 2007 for two weeks, first week AKL standard savannah room, 2nd week Contempory tower room.
We now have the option to change hotels if we want(?) for no extra charge.
So my question is????? Which Deluxe hotel is the best? We are a family of 4me DH DS(14) and DD(11).

You have already picked two outstanding hotels.
The Contemporary is in a great location for walking to MK. All the Disney hotels are fantastic but it depends on what you like and which park you wish to be closest to.

I love the Yacht Club :) It's in a great location with being able to walk into Epcot or MGM (or take the boat) - it's also next to the Boardwalk with the entertainment and restaurants, and of course the restaurants of world showcase. It also has the best pool on property - Stormalong Bay, which is a mini waterpark in itself :)

I think you have good choices already, but money not being an issue I'd also be looking at the Yacht or Beach Club for their excellent pool and location.

We stayed at The Contemporary and AKL last summer. In hindsight I wished we had chosen The Yacht or Beach Club instead of AKL. We felt 7 nights was too long to be so far out at AKL. We loved the Contemporary though and being able to watch Wishes from our balcony every night. Ask for a MK Tower View when you check in as high a floor as possible for this wonderful view.
If you want to read our trip report from last year here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=111844) or TinkTatoo's here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=123845) as she stayed at The Contemporary and AKL as well.

I think changing your AK week to a week at one of the hotels on or near the Boardwalk would be a good idea. At such a busy time of the year staying in hotels within walking distance to the parks may save you a whole load of time waiting for buses.

Although AKL is lovely, you might want to lok into changing to the Beach Club or Yacht club to be able to use teh Stormalong Bay Pool and be within walking distance of Epcot.

I would have to agree with what others have said, change your AKL to maybe the Yacht Club.
My personal favourite is and always will be Wilderness Lodge, it is a deluxe but really relaxed and cosy.
Thinking of your children's ages though - I agree with those who suggested the Yacht Club - the pool area Stormalong Bay is fantastic and you are close to both Epcot and MGM.
Thanks to everyone for your replies, helps to have other views! Think I will have a look at the Yacht Club as that seems to be the number 1 choice! Not too worried about being out at the AKL as we will have a car and want to 'do' some none Disney parks that week as well.
