As you can see by our countdown, it's not long until we head for New York, Vegas and Florida.

Having never been to Vegas or New York we have no idea where the best places are to eat.

In Florida we like to eat in places like Bennigans, can you recommend anywhere with similar prices and food to this.

We are staying in Marriott Marquis on Times Square and the Bellagio, so anywhere nearby would be fab!

The Las Vegas strip is lined with every type of restaurant from McDonalds and Denny's to exclusive casino restaurants, the shopping malls attached to the Aladdin and Ceasars Palace have lots of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets.

If you fancy doing something special try the Top Of The World Restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere tower, the food is very nice indeed and the view is breathtaking, Its quite expensive but definitely worth it as a one off!

I went to these two locations last march, remember your warm clothes it was freezing in NYC.

Couple of places we enjoyed oin NYC were
In little Italy
http://www.littleitalynyc.com/danico/ this was recomended by friends and the foods was superb.

Another place for the atmosphere was
http://www.ellensstardustdiner.com/ being sung to in this authentic diner gave us a buzz before the theatre.

and lastly for NYC was the Harlem Gospel Brunch at BB Kings, go early to get the better table and book in advance. http://www.bbkingblues.com/brunch/index.shtml

In vegas we were not as organised but went to many different hotels, and enjoyed the cheesecake factory at Ceasars Palace and the Village buffet at Paris Hotel were the hights for us.

Have a great time and this ws a holiday i loved and the two places a complete contrast of holidays

have a great time

We are doing the same trip in Nov/Dec - 3 nights in NY (Jumeirah Essex, Central Park), flying down for 5 nights at the Grand Floridian and then off to Vegas for 4 nights at the Bellagio. Can't wait for the Xmas shopping, atmosphere, parades and shows - shame it's such a long way off, wishing the year away!!

MY best tip is that it was freezing in NYC and cool spring UK weather in vegas, hat an gloves for nyc and jacket for las vegas.

I notice that you are staying at the bellagio we stayed there, are you staying midweek? we managed to get a suite, we think cos we were only staying mid week and checked in late in the day 9 pm! the suite had two bathroms one with jacuzzi tub and one with a steam room over looking the fountains. Try and get a fountain view then you can tune in your tv to the music and watch from the huge hotel windows this is a first night must for fountain view rooms i could have stayed all night and just watched the fountains chang music every 15 minutes but thats a waste of time in vegas.

As the Bellagio is opposite the the paris hotel go for breakfast at teh village buffet, the omelettes and smoked salmon are to die for!.

If you can do the helicopter over the grand canyon and take a jacket its cold out near the canyon.

have a great time:wavey:

Lovely Chinese in Aladdin (probably called Planet-holiday casino and resort now) Also nice Italian in the Excalibur.

The dinner buffet in the Bellagio is also very nice, but as already posted you'll be spoilt for choice. Some nights we went for cheap and cheerful pizza, burgers etc other nights we had a 'posh' meal.

I can also recommend both food and atmosphere at Ellen's Stardust Diner in New York (located right next door to Winter Garden Theatre where Mamma Mia is playing.)

If you want to try something a bit different than a chain restuarant, then www.opentable.com lets you book tables at hundreds of NYC restuarants for free. It also has reviews, and lets you search by cuisine and area.

I would certainly recommend the Bull and Bear Restaurant in the Waldorf, New York. Best steaks ever! xx

If its a treat you want, Prime at Bellagio was amazing at the beginning of this month for me, window seat by the lagoon and then vip entrance to the patio directly behind the fountains. Very Very pricey but amazing.

Also

Top of the World at The Stratosphere, lovely food ( not as special as Bellagio ) but the views and the service a once in a lifetime meal experience.

Once again expensive, but if its a treat your after and an excuse to wear your Gucci...go for it.

You have to book these online at the hotel website to guarantee a table.

Haven't been to NY for years, but can recommend places in LV:

The Wynn hotel does the ABSOLUTELY best buffet breakfast (and probably lunch and dinner) the surroundings are fab and the food wonderful;

Cravings at Mirage was also a very good buffet;

FP Changs at the Aladdin (now Planet Hollywood) does wonderful chinese food.

You will be spoiled for choice - have fun :)

we did 3 nights new york, 4 nights vegas and 7 nights Florida in 2005 and I can honestly say it's the best holiday I ever had, lots of travelling, but soooo worth it.

We stayed near Times square and ate at TGI Fridays which was lovely (although had the exact same meal at TGI's in Florida a week later and is cost exactly half the price!! In Vegas we stayed at the Luxor the all you can eat buffet in that hotel Pharoah's feast was very nice and good value

hava a great time, in NYC make sure you do an open top bus tour of downtown, best way to see as much as poss and in Vegas do the rides on the top of the Stratosphere if you dare and a trip to the Grand canyon

Top of the World in LV is a must! Our other favourite restaurant was Mon Ami Gambi at the Paris Hotel. Sit on the terrace, you can see the fountain show at the Belagio.:wavey:

I notice that you're staying at the Marriot, Times sq., in that case i highly recommend the revolving restaurant at the top of your hotel called The View. My DGF secretly booked it(well the whole trip actually;aint i lucky;) ) and im glad she did as the food was fantastic. As for Vegas, Top of the world at The Stratosphere is a must, as are the breakfasts at Mandalay Bay, New york new york(order the Bronx Bomber:tounge: ) and Binions Horseshoe(very cheap and filling). Also the buffet breakfast at Caesars(Cafe Lago i think):wavey:

Applebees on W 42nd Street (opp BB Kings) has the worst service-I've been there twice 2 years apart and it was dreadful both times.Poor food and totally disinterested service (neither time was it busy) I've been to other Applebees and they have been fine-just avoid this one.
In Vegas you HAVE to do a champagne brunch at one of the upscale hotels.
