This is for anyone that knows London well.
I was lucky enough to get 4 tickets for the Diana Concert, now I am not sure where to stay that weekend.
There is a Hilton at Wembley, but not much to do there for a weekend, or I could book central London.
If I book Central how easy is it to get to Wembley Stadium and will I be able to get a Taxi or something back?
My problem is I do not want to use the underground as it scared me before the Terrorist stuff went on and now I am even more afraid to use it.
Any tips or help would be appreciated, within reason money isn't a big priority as long as I am in a decent place.

Hi
We went to a concert last year in Wembley arena and had dinner at a hotel just around the corner. It was a Quality Inn and while we didn't stay there is looked like a decent place and was literally a 5 minute walk from Wembley Arena so must be around the same to the Stadium.
Wherever you stay hope you have a great time.

My husband and I go to London regularly and always stay at The Parkes Hotel www.parkeshotel.com.
It's about 20 minutes from Wembley in a taxi, but you couldn't be better placed if you want to make it a long weekend or break because the Hotel is in Beaufort Gardens, which I think is officially Knightsbridge! It is a fantastic hotel, a little pricey, but good old fashioned hospitality! You will be treated SO well.

I booked le meridien piccadily, expensive but looks nice;)
IMHO realistically you are going to have to use the underground.

May be, but the thought of it scares the pants off me, did you see American Werewolf in London, lol.

Wembley is on the metropolitan or jubilee line, so if you are staying at Le Meriden, you can go to Green Park and take the jubilee line straight there. Good thing about this line is, once you are past Finchley Road, it all out in the open, so much better for you if you are wary of the tube! :)

Oh thanks for that Diva, is the hotel nice do you know? seems on tripadvisor there are mixed reviews for all the hotels including The Ritz which suprised me.
Did you enjoy your Oz trip bye the way:wavey:

I haven't stayed there myself but have had friends from other countries who have and they seemed to like it, but this is going back a few years, so could have changed by now! *lol*
Had a fab time in Oz, thanks, i really want to go back for xmas this year, but depends whether i can get the time off work to go for three weeks. I will have to try my hardest! *lol* Am off to NYC on Sat, so at least i have that to look forward to! :)

Cheers, I am sure the hotel will be ok, its just a base, although at £280 a night it better be ok.
Have a fab time in NYC and do some Gucci shopping for me;)
Not sure about the hotel but the location is excellent, you can get your shopping from Fortnum and Mason, which is just opposite.
Although the tube is really well placed the queue to get on the thing after the concert will be a bit of a pain. I would get the hotel to organise a car or do it yourself (Addison Lee or someone like that) and arrange a pick up time and place.
Have fun though.
