I've been to Whinfell Forest & really enjoyed it....but as we've been a couple of times now, we're wanting to try somewhere different.
Has anyone been to Sherwood? What's it like? We're thinking of the 2 bed villa - there's only the 2 of us but the 1 bed villa has a studio layout & for the price difference between 2 of us over 4 nights it makes more sense to have the 2 bed. We stayed in a 2 bed at Whinfell & loved it.
Any opinions much appreciated!!! :D :D

We much prefer Sherwood to Longleat. Sherwood is more open and less hilly!

Hey,:wavey:
We have been to everyone Center Parcs except for Whinfell Forest. Sherwood was nearer and quite basic.:) The scenery was better than Elvedon but that was burnt down so we gave that the benefit of the doubt. Elvedon's rides are really good  and we liked the atmosphere there. Longleat was good for walking and the actual forest was far better- it was more private. :tounge:
Ive got to say we all prefer Elvedon and Longleat but we would go back to Sherwood.:cool2:

I love love love Sherwood (been approx 18 times  ). I have been to the others apart from Whinfell.
I love the fact that its in a "real" forest, those who have been will know what I mean. Its proper trees (as apposed to huge red woods where you see mostly tree trunk lol) and as its been there so long its really well established woodland.
It has recently begun a whole park revamp, from Villas to Spa. Some areas still need updateing but by no means are poor quality.
Its an excellent place for relaxing and great for children as its so safe (no cars allowed).
I have stopped in the Comfort, Comfort + and Executive style Villas. The executive was lovely but not worth the extra money in my opinion. The Comfort + is best value I feel as its only a few £ more than the Comfort but does feel a bit more upmarket. Dont get me wrong, the Comfort ones are fine, its what I spent most of the past few years in.
Enjoy

We have been to Whinfell on many, many occasions and love it. DW went to Sherwood Forest a few years ago for a girls weekend - in her opinion it was a long way behind the "old Oasis" site at Whinfell.

Hi,
Have been to both Sherwood and Whinfell and much prefer Sherwood, the village centre has a much nicer feel to it and everything is outdoors with little pavement cafes etc. Went twice last year and loved it, stayed in 2 bed Comfort + which imo is worth the few extra quid purely for the dishwasher! If you do go be sure to try the Italian restaurant (Luciano's) great food and good value for money.

Hi!
Sherwood forest is great!!! ( I live 10 mins away!!!) I have stayed there before and its lovely, i cant compare though as i havent stayed in any other Centre Parcs, but theres loads to do round here outside of Centre Parcs if you fancy venturing outside of the park, like Clumber Park (beautiful!) or Rufford park or the Sherwood forest visitor centre with Robin Hoods tree etc...
Hope you have a wonderful stay x:spin:

I prefer Winfell over SF because Winfell is newer.
SF is the first park, and as noted earlier, everything is outside, not like in Winfell, where the shops & cafe's are in a part of the dome..
This is nice on a warm summers day, but not sure about a wet and rainy Feb day!
I wouldn't really say there was a significant difference in the facilities in either park.
It may not be an issue, but SF tends to be a bit more pricey too.
But all said, a Center Parc is a Center Parc, and they do it well, no matter which one you go to!

We prefer Winfell, newly refurbed and 1 hour from home.
LOL

We have been to both. As others have said, Winfell is newer and the pool is better. But they are both different in layouts and villa styles. We have stayed in Comfort+ in both but winfell was much bigger.
SF is a lot easier to cycle round. Winfell is very hilly.

Have only been to Sherwood as it;s oour nearest but always enjoyed our visits.
Stayed last Jan in a basic villa which had been recently refurbished, they are doing them all over a period of time. Great accom. for what we paid.
Loved the new raft ride which I think they only have at Sherwood.
Enjoy
