Has anyone been to Memphis?

Has anyone been to Memphis? I've been trying to arrange a hotel and flight as a birthday present for someone. Virgin Holidays have it in the brochure but I can't seem to get it online. I've tried expedia etc but would appreciate any info anyone has.

my parents went in Dec 06 ,but flew into Oralndo met my aunt and drove from Daytona,long way I think but they loved Memphis and did the Elvis this etc ,they also drove down to New Orleans and then back to Florida .

yes we went sept 2006 and it was great, i booked with expedia ,flying delta airline (soso).memphis itself is a beautiful place with lots going on.did elvis( disappointing). but otherwise an interesting place. beware for the povety in some areas, and be street wise(stay in the main areas). but all said it,s well worth a visit.expedia was the best price at that time
