Has anyone done the scenic boat tour at winter park? We are thinking about a trip for a more relaxing day between the theme parks.

Yes did it back in 2005. It was a scorching day in June - and it was a very nice way to travel round, looking at all the posh multi million $ homes. If you can fit it in I would do it. Don't expect luxury tho - it is just a boat and a captain.

We did this a couple of years ago.
It was great to see all the big houses and the guy that drives the boat has loads of info on the area as well as loads of stories about famous people that have houses there.

Its a nice relaxing way to spend an hour and once you have finished the boat tour there are loads of shops just up from the car park! When we were there (a Saturday I think) there was a huge craft fair on too.

Hope this helps

We did it last year. Really enjoyed it and as others have said found it a lovely relaxing hour. We then went to lunch on Park Avenue at Panuellos - Italian. Sat on the terrace and people watched whilst quaffing a bottle of white Zinfandel. I have a feint recollection of being a bit worse for wear and having a rather long nap back at the villa - musn't drink at lunchtime!

We have done it and enjoyed it. The one thing that sticks in my mind is how cheap the cans of coke were!!!!!!!!!!

Me and my Dad did this 2 years ago. It was a lovely afternoon until we got 3/4 the way around when the heavens opened and there was a huge thunderstorm. As the boat is metal and we had to go across the lake to get back to base we had to take shelter under a bridge. A couple of little boats had to squeeze to get past us, occupants young people soaking wet.

We ended up singing happy birthday to one of the guests on the boat.

My mom was having kittens at the base (she doesn't do boats) because she didn't know if we were alright. Luckily the man called her into the office bit and contacted the driver so she was relieved that we were ok.

We were stuck under the bridge for at least an hour :omg: Never mind we laugh about it now.

We did it in 2000 and it is a lovely way to spend an hour away from the parks. As mentioned, the shops further along the street are great.

We bought a sandwich from a deli and ate it in the pretty little park alongside the railtrack and saw one of the (rare - only a couple of times a day as I remember) huge Amtrak trains stop at the station.
